so you're saying this is probably a bad time to have 3 major construction sites sitting exposed, with thousands of pieces of potential debris just piled all over the place.

whoops.

I don't see sustained winds going above 40, but any track to the west and that changes.

True. Hopefully they're taking precautions since the media here still isn't taking it seriously.

The Capital Weather Blog guys are about as even handed on storm reporting as it gets, yet they've been spot on for nearly every scenario over the last 3-4 years. When they start using/quoting expletives for what a storm could do, then it's likely time to look into making plans for a mess of a situation.

Though seriously, I do hope the media is not downplaying this storm after hyping others only to have egg on their face after it was all said and done.

PA medic, you'll get tons of wind and rain. But I don't think the center will come over you. It will pass to the south.

It has my experience that any TV weather guy with a pulse tends to overplay even the most remote tropical activity if there is even a remote chance of coming toward their viewing area.

Which is part of why I completely ignore TV weather forecasts.

That's why self education is important. I taught myself how weather works, and I'm still learning.

Consensus seems to be its going to hit the Delmarva. DC needs to be on alert. We should also be on alert for sustained tropical storm force winds, and the possibility of rain changing to snow Monday night.

I'm all ready to go, just in case.

I'm more concerned about wind at this point than anything else.
