We can play in some rain.
Jon, that made me laugh. I was at the JMU game. I think you're right, we CAN play in some rain, we can even play in a LOT of rain.

Oh can we :|

I guess I should have been more specific. To avoid the chance of getting "hurricaned" out, they should move the game to lynchburg.

Yes, I know it won't happen. I was just stating my wishful thinking out loud carry on.

This is awesome news. Get Lunsford on the field, cue the band, and BEAT COASTAL.

We are currently under a Tropical Storm Watch.
PROBABILITY OF TROPICAL STORM/HURRICANE CONDITIONS... THERE IS LITTLE CHANCE FOR HURRICANE CONDITIONS AT THIS TIME. ALSO... TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST BY SATURDAY MORNING.

... WINDS... AS HURRICANE SANDY MOVES CLOSER... THE THREAT FOR SUSTAINED HIGH WINDS IS LIKELY TO INCREASE. THE LATEST FORECAST IS FOR WINDS TO INCREASE TO 20 TO 40 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS ALONG THE COAST.
TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS EXPECTED ACROSS COASTAL SOUTHEAST NORTH CAROLINA. THE RAIN WILL INCREASE IN COVERAGE TONIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY..

Weather.com is predicting squalls beginning around 4PM and carrying through out the game. Rain is estimated to be about 2 - 3 inches today in MYB. Guess MASN looks like a good option

Forecast for today in Conway courtesy of NOAA
Today- Showers. High near 68. Breezy, with a northeast wind 18 to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

The rain doesn't look to be nearly as bad as the infamous JMU game, where it rained about three inches during the game (I was there). The wind will make the passing game extremely difficult with gusts up to 40 mph. It looks like Sandy is starting to move to the NNE away from the southeast coast. However, the wind field is expanding with tropical storm force winds extending 450 miles from the center.

I'll be at the game. It should be interesting.

Not sure why, but great to see Chris Lang writing about LU's game against Coastal:
LU's offense seeks to stay in sync in key clash at Coastal

CONWAY, S.C. — First-year Liberty football coach Turner Gill made an unusual move after the Flames lost their season opener to Wake Forest: He fired himself as the team’s play caller.

Liberty didn’t play awful offensively against Wake Forest. But Gill was impressed enough with co-offensive coordinator Aaron Stamn’s calls from the booth that he was comfortable in delegating that responsibility. It made total sense. Gill was on the field. Stamn was in the press box. It’s much easier to watch plays, defenses and tendencies from up top than it is at field level.

As the weeks have progressed, Stamn has found his footing in the role and Liberty’s offensive production has surged. Entering today’s crucial Big South showdown at Brooks Stadium with Coastal Carolina, the Flames have jumped to 15th in the country in total offense, 33rd in the nation in rushing offense and 25th in the country in passing offense.

That improvement is a big reason why the Flames have won three straight and have positioned themselves to play meaningful late-season football after an 0-4 start.

Also, the game will be televised live on MASN2 at 3:30. :clapping

It's raining decently in Norfolk for the ODU game, I can't imagine what a mess it's going to be in Conway.
