Here's a little preview for tomorrow.
FBS:
Early games are the strongest.
12pm sees #24 Iowa St (4-2) at Oklahoma St. (3-2), #15 Rutgers (6-0) at Temple (3-2), VT (4-3) at #19 Clemson (5-1), Minnesota (4-2) at Wisconsin (5-2) and #6 LSU (6-1) at #18 Texas A&M (5-1). That's a pretty solid start to the day with the highlight being Johnny Manziel having a chance to put himself in Heisman consideration against LSU.
At 3pm THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD! on Fox. 3:30 gives us #7 South Carolina (6-1) at #2 Florida (6-0), Nebraska (4-2) at Northwestern (6-1) in a game where the B1G has got to be rooting for a Northwestern win, BYU (4-3) at #5 Notre Dame (6-0), and #17 Texas Tech (5-1) at #23 TCU (5-1). 4pm gives us a significant Sun Belt game with ULM (4-2) at Western Kentucky (5-1).
The late games are a fairly weak bunch. 7pm gives us UNC (5-2) at Duke (5-2), #4 Kansas State (6-0) at #13 West Virginia (5-1) and #21 Cincinnati (5-0) at Toledo (6-1). I'm not sure why Cincy is playing at Toledo, but that's got the look of an unnecessarily tough OOC game at this point in the season especially with a game at Louisville on Friday. 8pm throws in Penn State (4-2) at Iowa (4-2), #14 FSU (6-1) at Miami (4-3), and Baylor (3-2) at #25 Texas (4-2) which proves that giving up 111 points in 2 games is not enough to knock you out of the idiotic BCS standings. If you've got CBS Sports Network, SD State (4-3) at Nevada (6-1) seems like a decent enough nightcap at 10:35.
FCS:
There's not a whole lot other than teams like Tennessee St (7-0), Harvard (5-0), Samford (5-1) and ODU (5-1) trying not to trip up against teams that are around .500. There are also a couple of questionable ESPN3 game choices from conferences that have much better games to offer like the Southland having Nicholls State (1-4) at Stephen F Austin (2-4) and the SoCon having Western Carolina (1-6) at Elon (2-4) making it to the air. Who knows how/why ESPN3 is carrying Presby at CSU.
The key matchups seem to be JMU (5-1) at Richmond (4-3) at 3:30, Wofford (5-1) at App. St. (5-2) at 3:30, S. Illinois (4-3) at YSU (4-2) at 4, Sacramento St. (5-2) at EWU (5-1) at 7:05, and McNeese St. (4-2) at Sam Houston St. (4-2) at 8pm.
There's not much else going on with a lot of lopsided records facing each other. Montana is going to have to try and start salvaging their season at North Dakota and Norfolk St. is on the road at Bethune Cookman. Those "tough" opponents of ours have a lot of work to do to get through the season with winning records.
