you can butcher the spelling and punctuations if you want. when Nick showed up for his first 2 a days prior to his freshman year of high school we had a different coach for the first time in 32 years. we had no idea what to expect. 2 years prior we had went 10-1, followed by a 4-6 season. in our parents meeting everybody noticed that our schedule of events had the banquet scheduled for january, when asked if it was a typo the coached replied "no, why would i schedule it before we had won the state championship in mid december". we were all laughing inside.
we were in every game we played but ended up 1-10. nobody likes to lose, so you can imagine how the fans were reacting. your gonna have people complaining regardless of your record.
year 2, you could see improvement at different position. parents and fans complaining on every call that didn't result in a 20yd pick up or a touch down. results 2-8.
year 3, i had seen our schedule earlier in the year and was wondering why in the world we hadn't scheduled some cup cakes just to get the morale up. as we were painting the field prior to our first game, i asked the coach what was up with the schedule and he replied " i was hired to build this program" and that if the players and fans buy into the program we were gonna be just fine. " everybody wants immediate success, but i'm looking at the BIG PICTURE" results 6-5 lost 1st round of playoffs
year 4, results 13-1. state champions
in the years since nick has been gone the team has made the playoffs every year and deep runs in 2 of them.
I was like everybody else, just wanted to win games. but having gone through this i understand the situation we are in now. would i love to be 3-0 and ranked, YES. but i see that we are in every game, and competing. to be able to score, you have to put yourself in position to score. to be able to win, you have to put yourself in position to win. we have done both.
to the people that say this team sucks, you know what you can do. it would just delete it if i tried to explain it to you.
do i agree with every play call we make, no. but the people that are in charge of the play calling know a whole lot more about football than 99.9% of the people watching the game. so i'l put my faith in them.
this is one flames family that is behind the players, coaches and the university. you don't have to agree or like what i posted, and to be honest i don't care! just know that there are probably a whole lot more of use than there are of you. GO FLAMES RONNIE
