Turn the buses around, Bank Of America Stadium Event cancelled?
Democrats are significantly downsizing the final night of their national convention, moving the events -- including President Obama's acceptance speech -- from Bank of America Stadium to the Time Warner Cable Arena because of threats of thunder and lightning.

Mr. Obama was slated to accept the Democratic presidential nomination Thursday night in the open-air football stadium before a crowd of more than 60,000. The basketball and hockey arena, however, seats just around 20,000.

This is actually really sad. The DNC is voting to amend the platform to include the words "God" and "Jerusalem," words that had been taken out following 2008.

The really akward part is that they go straight from the vote into the invocation. Seriously, what would they have done if the guy would have actually recognized that the majority of those in attendance had yelled "No!" on the final vote?

Well since Ron Paul can't win.... :D

I actually do like the dueling video clips this week. One candidate talking about the problem of a dependency culture the other praising a dependency culture.

I don't know if Romney is a complete dimwit... I just wish that Romney would come out and explain what he meant by the dependancy culture comment, so that the people can understand that depedency is a plague to the individual and society. He probably won't win over the people that are already dependent (as he points out), but he might score some much needed points with the rest of the voting public. Romney's taking too much advice from people who are ashamed of voicing true conservative principles though so that probably won't happen.

It's hard to know what's really going on. You get a lot of polls showing that it's bascially already over and that Obama has a sizable lead in all of the key states that Romney has to win. And then of course you have conservative pundits that explain the incorrect methodology of oversampling Democrats by as much as 13 points. And they act like because of how close it is despite the major sampling disparity, Romney has it in the bag. There's really nobody you can trust to give an opinion of what the election is going to look like. From all of that, my personal estimation is that this will all come down to if the people who normally don't vote that came out to vote in '08 stay home or not. It's all about that Obama excitement factor and the fact that it's not there like it was in '08. But how much of it does he need?

Good analysis LUconn. I'm not trusting the polls. Something's not right, with the economic picture so grim but Obama up in polls. There is the theory that Obama spending so much money early painting Romney as the evil rich guy has paid off. It probably will come down to turnout, and it's all about those key swing states.

I'm wondering where Romney is though. I have not heard much from him in the past week... What's he doing? It's interesting to me to see the tactics being employed by the Obama campaign. All summer long they were dodging the economy by trying to point to Obama's 'successes' in foreign policy. Then the Middle East erupts. Romney criticizes and Obama comes out and criticizes Romney for 'shooting before aiming'. Now we see that the whole Obama policy regarding the Arab Spring was entirely wrong. The 'rebels' we armed in Libya used the same weapons 4 months later in the Consulate attack AND the Obama coverup trying to blame the video for the attacks has been shown to be false. Then comes the release of the Romney video that was 'offensive' to those receiving taxpayer funded benefits. So now we're back on the economy and the liberal media is trying it's best to paint a picture of recovery... Again.

I really hope Romney's preparing for the debates. There is nothing in Obama's record that paints a pretty picture, but Romney needs to capitalize on the that opening if he actually wants to win. If not he'll end up just like McCain...

I see Ryan out doing a lot of grass roots type of gatherings. He was even in Danville yesterday. What I haven't seen, until today, is Romney doing the same thing. I think this isthewinning strategy. Get out and meet the peeps. Its a given that Romney will never get any good press and when he does open his mouth, the talking heads will blat him. If he gets out and meets the people, that will leave a better and longer lasting impression of him. Then those same people will be innoculated when they hear things from the press that are contrary to what the heard the man say with their own two ears.
The debates will help some. But the post debate dog pile on whatever he says will not help. I do find it distressing that the press is focusing on the guy who WANTS the job as opposed to the guy who has the job. I'm with Laura Ingrham on this one. If the Republicans can't win this, the party needs to be blown up and start over.
My biggest concern for the campaign is Romney's record of frugality. Will he spend the money he needs to and can afford to spend. I hope he understands that his campaign war chest should be $0 on the day of the election. And it is a good thing, not a bad thing.

The debates won't do anything. All of the moderators are softies. Not a single one of them will force a candidate to answer a question. It will be unwatchable.

That's exactly what I've been thinking all along. He can't possibly own up to his performance so just make it seem as though he's coming in for a fresh start.

Theyre also all certified Democrats. I have faith in Ryan that he can destroy faulty primises, but Romney has no chance.
