Solution: mute TV/Stream and put radio ear buds in with Alan York.

Going on my second season of doing this.
Not necessary. With the exception of the student reporter and the occasional Tilley mispronounciation, it's not bad. And I agree with Haize that Ray was better this game. Overall I haven't had a problem with the announcing from the booth.
Most of the criticism I've seen on here has been nitpicking. The sideline girl was a little rough but I think she's new this year so hopefully will get better.

It may be nitpicking, but there are things to nitpick about every time they say something. It just get aggravating after a while for my wife when I keep telling them how wrong they are about stuff. As long as they've been doing it now, they should be better. I find myself wondering sometimes if Ray has ever watched a game before.

My favorite quote from last year was "Well, I guess a touchdown is worth more than a field goal!"

Then I noticed during basketball they showed JVP was from "Fort Meyers, Florida" for an entire year.

Alan York was truly a great hire for radio. I like seeing the road bball games on TV with his voice, it feels just like TV. I don't want to insult anyone personally, but TV needs help. I keep hoping it will get better and it just never does.

Although SCAR does an excellent job.

Fyi, I just saw this on eGriz. Hmm
I sent an Email to ESPN because they had showed they were going to stream the game on ESPN3 earlier in the week, but it is not there any longer, and here is their reply.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.
ESPN makes its programming decisions based on a number of factors, including viewership, as reflected by ratings and the interest from advertisers and affiliates, on a nationwide basis and is always investigating programming opportunities to better serve sports fans.
We appreciate your feedback. We’ll be sure to let our programming executives know that our viewers would like to see Montana - Liberty on WatchESPN.com.

Regards,
Jack

Maybe they need some more Emails to convince them of the interest!!

The more they receive the better the chances are.

Given the alternative, I've never minded the delay at all.

Look, Ray is a good person with an average level of fan knowledge and understanding of football. And I'm very sensitive to all this for various reasons. All I've asked in the past still applies: what is added to the broadcast by him? I think he's a talented P-B-P broadcaster, but what does he add as a Color Analyst? To me, he is the best replay Play-by-Play guy in FCS.

He's right, I don't see Liberty vs. Montana listed.

That's a big mistake. But oh well. Someone else will get my advertising dollars instead.

All is well. Just make sure to tune into libertyflames.com/tv and there should be a viewing option for you even though ESPN3 will not be carrying it

The only thing that stinks about Liberty Channel's coverage is that there is no on demand or replay of the game, I won't be able to watch it live so I guess I'll have to resort to highlights... :frustrated

Well, I cant imagine this is the best solution but if I was you I would use Viola (mac program) and do a video capture of the live stream.

Will you have access to a mobile phone? If so you could just watch it from the LU Today app

You guys think for us that can not watch it live, do you think JLFJR or the Athletic department can post the replay of the Montana game online. At the athletic website or post a replay of on the Liberty channel replay schedule?

Poor guy, now he's gonna get another urgent email from BJ. Somebody teach him how to filter those into his delete bin.

Haha So I did inquire about this today and it is in the works and on the roadmap. With some of the shifts in the department I think FSN will get some TLC and attention it needs to thrive. It'll take some time though, but I really think the recent decisions are smart. It will relieve marketing from being 100% responsible for everything regarding a television network but instead work on branding and marketing things while the school of communication can focus on production quality and have an endless amount of talent to help assist.

Really good moves that I think you'll start to see payoff in the near future.
