Not much but mountain vistas as you move into Montana. It is a pretty decent drive but it often is cheaper. Just be ready for some extreme gas prices up that way. Perhaps one of our new Griz friends could give us the latest prices.

I've done the drive from Spokane to Missoula once, very pretty in northern Idaho. Cour d'Alene is a cool spot not too far from I-90, if I recall. Spokane itself is a decent town. I've covered plenty of hoops at Eastern Washington. They didn't have the red turf at the time. John Stockton's dad owns a bar in downtown Spokane.

Gas is at 3.64 in the Spokane Valley and 3.36 in Missoula.

I'm quite certain that I will make this game to Missoula... Though admittingly I have not yet purchased my tickets for the game.

This game is pretty much "a local game" for me it feels, as Missoula is only a couple hours away.

I would really like to sit amongst Liberty alumni and Flames fan's attending this game, so I am planning to purchase tickets through the Liberty Ticket Office.

I have seen Montana Griz play before a couple of times in the past.

Does anyone going to this game know the method for receiving these tickets? Are the tickets arranged for "Will Call" at the stadium in Missoula on game day, or are they send directly from Lynchburg through the postal service? etc?

If it makes it more reasonable, the drive over from Spokane isn't bad. The airport should have some lower fares and the drive is absolutely beautiful. Also, if you rent a car then you can roll up to Glacier like some people are thinking. The game is early enough in the year you can pull it off. The fishing is great for Browns especially this time of year. License for out of staters for a couple days is real reasonable (25 for 2 days.) There was some mention of elk hunting as well. Montana is a state that requires you to pass a bow hunting safety class before you can bow hunt. With how they worked their out of state stuff this year I think there are some left over to buy over the counter. Usually elk deer combo. It isn't free that's for dang sure. It's about 800. Depending on where you head the hunting is great to poor. The wolf reintroduction program (which isn't popular here for various reasons...I'd be happy to have a discussion on the crookery of) has hurt some of the moose sheep deer and elk populations. Hope everyone can make it out have fun drink lots let me know if anyone needs anything I may not be able to help but I can at least point you in the right direction.

I had forgotten that the Griz have to travel to and from Boone this week and play a tough game like that. Should be interesting to see if it affects them vs us, but likely not since we have to travel to them. I can't wait to see that crazy atmosphere.

Whenever I went up there, I always went to the Depot for dinner and was never disappointed by the steaks. Pricier than the average spot but not out of control (good Maytag Bleu Cheese 10-oz. sirloin with sides for 27.95).

It's been nearly 10 years since I've been to town so I may have to look around to refresh my memory of other places to go. For those looking for a cold beverage, the Rhino doesn't disappoint. Somewhere between 50-100 beers on tap and a huge selection of scotches and what not. And for anyone who enjoys craft beer, and I know there are some on this board, Western breweries blow their East-Coast brethren out of the water. Sorry. Fact.
