It's going to be on ESPN3, so we get a chance to see how Montana is handling things after their tumultuous offseason.

I will be at this game. I'll make sure to come back and give some details about Montana. Let me just say that Montana is tough at home but... the entire town of Boone is shutting down to go to "The Rock" this Saturday. It will be difficult for Montana to leave Boone with a W this weekend.

In the past it has been difficult for me to relate LU's team and App State's team because ASU has run a Pro-Style offense and LU has not. This year is different so the Montana vs. App St. game will be a great picture of what LU should expect.

Now... ... my dream would be Liberty vs. App St. in 2013 or 2014!

Why did they stop playing App State? They were on the schedule every year from 1997-2002. Did App get too big to keep coming to Lynchburg every other year?

I think they didnt see the benefit of coming as far as postseason play was concerned. REmember, those last few years (2000-2002) we really were not that good, so I guess they thought theyd be able to find someone who would better bolster their SoS for a possible at large. That's just my thought

Why did they stop playing App State? They were on the schedule every year from 1997-2002. Did App get too big to keep coming to Lynchburg every other year?

I think it came down to the fact that App is competing in a conference that they have to finish top 2-3 or they do not even sniff the post season. So, if App was to finish 3rd in the SoCon and carry a win vs. a poor LU team (2000 - 2005) they would have a chance of getting bumped.

Talking to Coach Moore, he has a lot of respect for where LU is headed. I wouldn't count out an App. State vs. LU reunion in the next few years. It just makes sense after Mr. Barber was down visiting last post-season.

Just about any FBS scenario for us in the next few years outside of the MAC involves Appalachian State. So the chances of us facing each other again are actually rather decent.

Gotta go with App as well. Just like it is very difficult for visiting teams to win in Washington-Grizzly Stadium, App State is very good at Kidd Brewer and I think when you add that home field advantage with the skill of the players that they have and you have a good recipe for a Mountaineer win 31-28

Meanwhile CSU got drubbed by a non-scholarship team. Yikes.

Montana ties it up at 28 with like a 87 yd catch and run. Epic.

The App State // Montana Game was one of the best Football games I have ever been to. App. State needed every bit of the Home Field Advantage they could get in this one. Lots of scoring in the first half and the second half was tightly defended with a few break out plays for scores. In the end, App. State pulled away with the victory against a very talented Montana squad.

Things that LU will be going up against:

1. Montana's running game, mainly #35, was OUTSTANDING!

2. Montana's QB ran for many 1st downs (many were 3rd down and 7-8-9).

3. Montana's multiple offense is POTENT! They would run for 2 yards for 5 or 6 plays straight and then throw a 40 yard pass. It was crazy!

If this game does not take App. State into the top 5-8 in the rankings than I give up hope completely on the polls.

Can't wait to get up to an LU home game soon! I was devastated to listen to the final play on the radio after our game. Tough loss but not the end of the season. Conference play is where it counts most! Go Flames!!
