CJBRADY that's a whole lot of qualifiers. If's and Would's don't change the fact we DIDN'T. It's a pleasant surprise to see where we are at starting the season, no doubt. I hope we continue this trajectory and our IF'S and WOULD'S become DOES and DID.
As for Montana, that will be a more difficult game then the one we played last nite

I say this because had that last pass been caught, we found a way to score and had we won that game, it would have been the biggest win ever for Liberty football. Hudson looked great, the defense might be a top 5 FCS defense and Lunsford has an incredible leg. Gill has done a fantastic job with this team and as long as the team doesn't become complacent after a win against Norfolk State, we should smack Montana.
wow...calm down buddy

All I'm saying is that we're one catch, plus 40 yards from our biggest win in school history. Montana's crowd will be the toughest part about that game. Montana struggled putting away South Dakota and when you consider all of the off-field problems that they've been having, I don't think it's a stretch to say that we should beat them.

Montana rolled up nearly 600 yards of offense ... they struggled to finish. But they'll have some things figured out in two weeks.

And Norfolk's defense is good, especially the linebackers. That is not going to be an easy game.

Yes, but who did we play? This wasn't almost beating JMU or Lehigh or Stony Brook. This was Wake Forest, an above average ACC team that's been predicted by many people to make a bowl. If the defense plays like they did yesterday and if Hudson improves, I don't see Montana beating us...and it isn't out of the question for us to smack them by 14-17 points.

No doubt...The Wake folks were way too kind...the Grizz folks will be all fangs!

The best thing about last night was seeing that we are not rebuilding, but simply reloaded. I'm surprised noone mentioned how classy the coaching staff dressed. All in the same very nice polo. That's a change from last staff. I hate moral victories though, that game was ours to win. We just needed one more break to go our way.

And I agree with Lang, some revised expectations I've read this morning are just setting ourselves up for disappointment. We still have a very difficult non conference schedule plus Stony Brook.

Yes it is out of the question...all the game at Wake proved was we are better then we expected. Montana is a tough, tough place to play and they aren't going to be taking Liberty lightly like Wake Forest did last night. We have a chance to win, no doubt, but there is no way we are "smacking them".

I also agree with Lang. I do think we have a chance to win every game but there are no easy wins ahead (ok maybe concord) especially not Lehigh, Montana, or SBU. We have a good chance to win all of them but we have a lot of work to do.

I agree with Rooster. About the only easy game we have is Concord and THEY were a playoff team last year (but we should still pound them and put a stop to our friend ballcoach and going on and on about Gretna...who btw got hammered two weeks ago). After a performance like last night, we certainly can win all of our games going forward, but they will all be wars for us.

So once cold weather hits, you don't think we'll see classy Coach Gill in a an old gray sweatshirt and a toboggan ski cap?

Montana would have killed Wake Forest last night, all other things being equal. I'm thinking Montana 28 Wake 10 final score. There are no easy OOC games this season (except Concord, and they'll be here to try to win THEIR signature game for their program, so that one won't be a walk in the park). I'm more confident about the Montana game after last night, but it's still not a done deal, and anyone who things we should win by 14-21 points has no clue about FCS sports. It's winnable, but it's not going to be a blowout. Montana doesn't get blown out at their place; if we manage to do that, we will be making FCS history.

Norfolk State is no slouch, though I think this is a game we should win. Lehigh is another game we should win. But both of those will be close games, with plenty of chances for us to blow it.

It is one game. You are never as good (or as bad) as it looks after one game. Before you start measuring the trophy case for the FCS trophy, you might consider that there is a long season ahead with a first year starter at QB and the first year in this defensive system and offensive system. That is not a recipe for consistently excellent play.

Clearly, though, a respectable result against a team that went to a bowl last year.

Montana is legit and we shouldn't say that we should beat them by 3 scores with ease. I believe we can beat every remaining team on our schedule, but we have to come ready to play each and every week, and EXECUTE. Norfolk State has a STRONG LB core with a supportive Defense. This weekend is not going to be a pushover, but we have a great chance of being victorious. Just show up Saturday at the BIll and be ready to cheer our team on!

PS: I told you guys Lunsford was solid! hopefully he can provide some comfort for us all year at the PK position. ( which he should)...glad to see him wearing #49 right!

Most teams we play the rest of the way won't be able to kick it that deep.

first off, I am not disappointing one bit for making the trip down to Wake!

I lacked a lot of confidence in Gill (i'm pessimistic by nature when it comes to football) but I am loving the way the staff looks!

Hudson surpassed by expectations and He is definitely our man.

I don't EVER want to see us try an run the Option ever again

Aikens and Fogg were outstanding, they shut down the passing game with the exception of #27 (Hagen) our secondaries were great!

I hope to see Sigmon on the field this week, I love his intensity.

Our receiving core (minus timing issues) looks good, we have plenty of weapons to spread some yards around

I am anxious to see what Aldreakis Allen will do after sitting our this game for a suspension, I am not sold on Holloway.

Beat Norfolk! Go Flames!

was looking forward to your perspective on him...

was thrilled to see how well he did. Looked like both 49 yarders had another 10+ yds of leg in them

PS: what'd he have to pay you for that number?

Maybe the rule was suggested by O'Day before he lost his job knowing he had to face the Fogg this year. lol
