The Normbulance – named in honor of Charlotte’s mascot Norm The Niner – is a tailgate-ready vehicle that in its former life was, well, an ambulance. Friday, to mark that inaugural 49ers football game against the Campbell Camels that is 365 days hence, the Normbulance will be cranking on all cylinders. Just go to Lot 18 – the parking lot directly across from Charlotte’s student union – from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The day also will be marked by a chalk talk by football coach Brad Lambert at the baseball stadium, and a men’s soccer game between the 49ers and Alabama-Birmingham that begins at 7 p.m.
