There's been a relationship with MASN for years. Unless the hullabaloo here is for HD, I don't see what the big deal is.

Liberty pulls excellent ratings, especially in MASN's market and relative to other programs at its level. Liberty supplies the content by producing it all entirely, they pick up the feed. It's a big WIN-WIN for everyone.

This is the first year this many games have been carried live by MASN. It's normally been 1-2 games live the rest tape delayed. This is big, and there should be a press release about it.

And if it's really in HD, that should be a separate press release.

The MASN listings do have HD by a bunch of the games, but not by ours.

TWC refuses to carry MASN in NC. Which means if you're an Orioles or Nationals fan there, you're screwed from being able to watch them even though it's your RSN.

I'd switch if it means that much to you, based on what I've read TWC isn't budging on MASN. Also, think about the bigger footprint we'd have in NC (granted its already big) if people could watch our games on MASN.

I'm not sure about areas farther south, but throughout the direct DC and Baltimore suburbs I'm unaware of anyone that doesn't carry it at this point.

Yeah, every game this season until the playoffs are available on ESPN3. The big question was whether or not we would be back on FamilyNet or another similar network.

Yeah, typically MASN2 is overflow from the Nationals and Orioles playing at the same time.

My guess is because the Nationals and the Orioles share the same TV market, it will be available in the same areas.

Okay, here's what I found. They're going to begin using MASN2 for college football this year.
MASN announces 2012 college football schedule
August 24, 2012 4:10 PM

MASN, the region's leader in live sports entertainment, has announced an extensive NCAA college football schedule for the 2012 season. Utilizing both MASN and MASN2, the network will broadcast 39 games featuring seven conferences, including some of the most prolific football programs in the nation, along with local colleges and universities in MASN's seven-state footprint.
Fans from Harrisburg, Pa., to Charlotte, N.C., will again enjoy maximum access to games featuring the Big East, Big South, Patriot League and Western Athletic Conference. College football action on MASN kicks off on Friday, Aug. 31 when Connecticut hosts Massachusetts on MASN HD. The first broadcast on MASN2 HD comes Sept. 8, when North Carolina State visits UConn.
MASN will once again be home to "The Big East Game of the Week," which will be televised in high definition and feature Louisville, ranked 25th in the AP Preseason Top 25, along with Big East members Cincinnati, UConn, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Syracuse and Temple. With 10 Big South games, MASN will again serve as the official cable network of the Big South Conference.
Once again, MASN will televise the annual game between Lehigh and Lafayette on Nov. 17 at 1:30 p.m. on MASN2 HD. Known as "The Rivalry," this is the most-played football rivalry in the nation, now in its 148th meeting.
In addition to its game broadcasts, MASN televises the best coaches and magazine shows throughout the season, including "R Football with Kyle Flood," "Inside Duke Football with David Cutcliffe" and "Inside East Carolina Football with Ruffin McNeill."
MASN is available on 29 cable systems and operators throughout a seven-state territory. The full schedule is available here.
