Ok, I don't know of a way to get ESPN3. I am not a subscriber to any provider ie. Time Warner Cable, Verizon FIOS, etc. Can anyone tell me how I can watch the game this Saturday? Thanks for any help.

From one old timer to another, if you have access to the Internet, just click on this link and you can watch the game on your computer:

You don't have to be a subscriber of any of those to watch ESPN3.

If by chance you are near LU, grab your laptop, head to the visitors center, snag a cumffy chair and log onto their "guest wireless" once your on you have access to espn3.

Hope that helps

Not if you use Shentel and an iPad. But I'm more of a Middle Aged Timer.

I just clicked the link and it asks for a TV provider. I have Direct TV and it is not listed. Thanks for the attempt.

I have DirectTV and I can watch ESPN3. That's odd. I had internet through Verizon DSL and Comcast and it still works for me. You can only watch ESPN3 if you don't have those specific providers.

Unfortunately, you do have to have a TV provider that has a deal with ESPN for it to work. DirecTV is one of the few remaining holdouts.

Yes you can get it though Verizon Broadband, it is an approved provider. I have TWC ISP. but it is not an approved provider.

I know nothing regarding the hows and whys but I have Direct TV and watched Liberty's events on ESPN3 all last year. Just checked to make sure and it is working - Edmonton is beating Toronto 26-17 in the CFL in case anyone is interested. Planning on having Auburn/Clemson on the TV and the Flames on the PC.

Internet is ATT&T.

Sorry, Flameshaw, I have my Internet through Comcast, and I guess that's why I can get ESPN3 on my laptop. I thought if I could get it, then anybody could.

I think the only way you can get it is to get someone who subscribes to one of those services to give you their log in credentials.

We were able to watch all of the ESPN3 broadcasts last year thanks to my son and his Xbox360 via the internet. It was outstanding. We were able to toggle from game to game during halftime, timeouts etc. Hope this helps.

I am a "cord cutter" (I dumped cable & satellite a couple years ago) and I watched almost every BAMA game last season online. Unfortunately, I don't think that will be the case this year.

1. ESPN used to have a service called GAMEPLAN. This was a PAID service available through Cable/Satellite providers and later as an online service.

2. The online GAMEPLAN morphed into ESPN 360 for FREE. This service required broadband service with any number of broadband providers. As long as your internet connection was coming from one of these providers, you had access.

3. ESPN rebranded ESPN360 as ESPN3.

4. ESPN has morphed again and has a new service called WATCHESPN. While there are many cool things about this such as watching on your mobile phone / tablet, you MUST have television access from a small number of cable providers. As part of this initiative, there will be LESS free football games available than in the past to "Cord Cutters" like me. When you visit the ESPN3 site, if you see a "key" icon to the left of the game title, the game requires a WATCHESPN account.

I have always been critical of those who illegally watch sports events online. Although I will not do so, I have never been more tempted to do so than now. I have paid $100 - $150 in the past for GAMEPLAN and would be willing to do so again, but the cable companies are putting pressure on content providers to wipe out access to Cord Cutters like me.

This game will most likely also be on vipbox.tv or firstrowsports.eu. Those are both great sites for watching several different sports. MLB, NFL, NHL, NBA, college football, college basketball, etc.

That article wasn't confusing at all. I get it, but the branding speak was tough to get through.

I dont think we will be affected because our games arent on one of the big 3 networks serviced by WatchESPN.

I noticed a key icon appeared to programs that are now blocked, and there is no key next to the game on Saturday, so I think we can still watch online.

There will be no problems with LU games. ESPN3 is now featuring "exclusive" games. In other words, the games no one really wants to watch.
