This idea is sooooooo far out there now that it's not even the WAC-East, its the EAC. It's just not viable at this point. Why would a Denver based conference just hold on to football to appease New Mexico State? If there ever was a WAC-E then it makes more sense now for those schools to try to form their own separate thing.
If I'm the WAC commish right now I'm scrapping the football idea and getting Utah Valley State, Chicago State, Texas Pan-Am, and maybe even NJIT on the phone immediately. It's not this conferences football that needs to be saved at this point, but the whole conference altogether.
I don't think it's a wise decision of any eastern school, whether it be Liberty or whomever to even consider the WAC. Good things come to those who wait, and MUCH better opportunities will likely present themselves down the road rather then this. People are manufacturing decisions out of fear right now, which rarely works out.

Idaho left because there aren't enough teams in the WAC for other sports.
