thats been the best part of the olympics....period. i just don't know how people can sit and watch weeks of this.

the only other part of the olympics i enjoyed was when the female austin powers from great britain was doing her gymnastics routine. we just kept saying "yeah baby yeah" and other quotes from the movie throughout and had a good chuckle.

What David Stern wants as far as a basketball world cup goes is already in existence - see FIBA World Cup - he just wants the NBA to get money out of it since the NBA gets nothing directly from the Olympics or FIBA World Cup.

Yes but by following what Stern wants it will essentially revamp FIBA. But again around the world a team/country will have bigger and better bragging rights by saying 'We beat Team USA in the Olympics" then they would in the Worlds.

Not when the rest of the basketball world values FIBA over Olympics.

2010 was the first time any Americans really began caring about the FIBA World Cup. It was televised but most of the games were on ESPN Classic. (Wow.) Anyways, hopefully more players will compete in it. Wildcats is right on this one.

I can't find it on here, but I know I mentioned something 4 years ago about Rashid Ramzi looking suspicious during the Beijing 1500m. Turns out he tested positive and was stripped of his gold medal the following February.

There are a lot of questions about the under-performace of the Kenyan distance runners in London. No medals in the 10,000 or the 1500? It is kind of fishy that this follows a prominent Kenyan distance runner coming forward and saying that doping is rampant in his country. (Not that I blame them because of the unbelievable change in their lives that can occur with running success.) Most running nerds think that most of the Kenyans went off of the juice before the Olympics and their performances show it.

I am absolutely sure Usain Bolt is doping as well, but I suspect that he will never be caught because track needs him to be the star that he is. If you doubt that Bolt is dirty, do a little research on all of his training partners who have been busted in the past 5 years.

Walking and trampoline. Between that and the boxer who initially was given a win while being knocked down 5 times in the 3rd round, it just amazes me that people take this unmitigated farce seriously.
