I had the same thought.

Looks like SJ has something to do/people to stalk this fall rather than just sit around in his LaZboy and get fatter.

Rivals confirms the three offers from LU, Presby & Tennessee-Martin.

Its closer to home AND they only have three QBs on the roster (one a senior). He probably would have more of a chance to see the field right away there than he would here (with a true freshman and a redshirt freshman) and a chance to establish himself long term.

Thanks for adding that Sly. with a (by then) redshirt sophomore and a true sophomore as well as another true freshman (assuming Masha signs in February), if he came here he would have had to pass at least two QBs to see the field. Unless the Bulldogs have more than one QB in the 2013 class, Mitchell should only have to beat out one (with Summerlin graduating)

This just in Albert Mitchell committed to Samford.

no surprise there, Anyone with half a brain would have known Liberty Couldnt pull off a QB that good. Not while we are a part of the Big South.

Wait, he is THAT good? He is going to Samford, a team that has hasn't gone above .500 since they joined the SOCON in 2006 and it's a big deal?

Hate this one got away also but have you seen that campus? I saw Samford's campus a long time ago and it was amazing back then. Looks like they have stepped it up even more by this video.

They had a winning season last year and with that coach, they will be at the top of the SOCON in no time.

Their head coach 1971 Heisman Trophy Winner is a QB legend.

If you read about this kid, his head coach Ingle Martin made it to the pros from the SOCON and the closest SOCON schools from where this kids is now are UTC and Samford.

Small, beautiful campus; very good academics; cute, wealthy coeds; 80% of the kids go home on weekends and they draw very little interest from the community; high school son leaned over to me while at a game there a couple of years ago and said this is the only college game I can ever remember where I could talk to the quarterback while he is on the field as no one is watching let alone cheering.

As for Coach Sullivan, considered a great character guy but the small group of people who care are in constant debate whether he should be let go or not as there is no energy with the program(they would fit in nicely on our Flamefans).

Special point of interest for the old timers on here - Mel Hankinson spent four years here, including a 4-23 final year.
