He definitely has a nose for the ball...I will say that he needs to be careful with his pre snap coverage decisions because a good receiver at this level can take him showing early and turn it into a big gain on an option route

kid looks like he has good feet, most important for a CB, didnt see him bite on any of the stop n go routes, and doesnt look like he is gonna shy away from to much contact. Looks like another solid pickup for the 2013 class

your sarcasm is duly noted BYD...one thing that I picked up from Coaching Football class (other than constant derision from SJ and a few others who were in there and from postie) is an ability to break down football plays a lot more in depth than I could before

To further explain, there were quite a few plays where pre snap he was shading back off the line. a good QB/WR combo can see that and make a hot call maybe to a bubble screen or something that plays to the space he vacated. If he can learn to disguise things like that while he's here, he could end up a really good one

Youre right I dont...but that's my own take on what I saw. Im glad to see him in our fold and looking forward to him signing with us in February

BJ, from what you saw on film, does he "hit like a linebacker" too?
#395818
Not as hard a hitter as the other kid. He's gonna be a corner so he wont have as many opportunities to come up and hit Im speculating

The logic is simple really.

1. Liberty has national appeal, as there are Christians everywhere in this country, not just in Virginia and North Carolina
2. As a private school there is no in-state vs. out of state tuition, and costs are pretty even across the board (not counting VTAG)
3. As such, it would make sense to simply recruit the best players in the country, regardless of where they are from
4. By casting a larger "net" you increase your talent pool significantly

Any program (athletic, arts, academics, etc.) not doing this is losing out on some great potential recruits

Welcome to the future.

Humble Opinion yeah they usually do. Some commit their sophomore seasons then change the commitment going into their senior year. The #2 prospect in the nation did that today...but I'm not bitter. Regardless of talent level some commit early some commit late, personal preference.

My guess is he wants to see the field immediately and the cards weren't in play for that to happen. We have 13 DBs coming back next year that are around his height. of those 13, I believe around half saw action and probably would be ahead of him on the depth chart coming out of spring ball before he even would have hit campus. That is just my speculation on it

Everyone wants to play immediately, but kids still go to schools that have depth at their positions. You think every superstar freshman at Bama plays from day 1? They get quite a few.

UNC's secondary was/is garbage(IM a huge UNC btw), hence why Tim Scott played so much. That secondary was shuffled around all last season and this season.

FEW freshman play significant minutes as true freshman. Every school would prefer to redshirt the kids the first year. If a freshman is playing, and they're not an elite level recruit, it is more than likely out of necessity of the team.

agree on some points disagree on others, totally believe that a kid doent have to b elite level to play I definitely think a kid frosh or not could just b better than whats in front of him. the game is about making plays and if a soph makes more than a senior he should play. while some think redshirt could b beneficial I as a coach need to win now otherwise I may not have a job to watch that redshirt kid play the next year. I hv position coaches that say that kid A is outperformibg kid B he needs to b on the field .
Are we back?

Nice! Here is to hoping we can live bot free.
