Update: Models have switched. NAM says snow flurries, GFS now says 1-3.

I still think the NAM is correct. Here's the 06z GFS if you're interested.

Biggest hail storm that I've ever seen in Lynchburg: round chucks of ice as big as dimes and nickels were falling from the sky. The street is white with hail.

On the upside, with all this rain it looks like we may not have to worry about another burn ban this year

You would be surprised at how many people eat this stuff up around here. If it's not for you, fine, but others love it. It's just like the run to walmart mentality though when severe weather hits they will tune in.

I'm okay but my next door neighbors entire fence is gone.

The wind is still gusting 40-50 here at my house. So be careful (I live 45 miles west of Lynchburg). But I'm also at a higher elevation as well.

Edit: Just hit 64 mph again.

I live in Botetourt and 90% of us are without power, 8 hours after the storm. Oh did I mention it's gonna be 102 today?

Should be fun. I've seen stories that people are packing into 7 elevens in Roanoke City solely based on having power.

I know AEP is doing what they can. This has to be the worst storm I've ever experienced.

I appear to be the only person in VA with power. A lot of old people are going to die today.

Ours flickered off a couple times but has stayed on since. Only a few leaves in the yard. A mile or so up Leesville toward town and the power is off.

I'm on the way with the family to pick up a generator in NC. It's going to be almost a week for us, plus our power goes out a lot anyway.
