3-1 CCU, bottom 3'rd.

Key is to keep things close. If possible.

Now you know the answer. Toman, the ultimate rally killer.

Toman does a mostly good job, but someone needs to punch him every time he calls for a bunt. Bunting with 2 on base increases the chance of scoring 1 run but decreases the chance of scoring multiple runs. 2 on, nobody out, down by 2 in the 4th inning is always a stupid time to bunt. There's just no excuse for it when the info about bunts is readily available. Hopefully the boys can beat their own manager and win this game.

This is just sad. Coach Bunter could have tried it in the 6'th, but didn't, and we don't score. Funny, Coach Bunter chose not to bunt when it might have actually worked.

i'm done with Toman and his inconsistent teams. the guy keeps bunting when their is a guy at first even if it's liberty's best hitters, just wasting an out. seriously stop playing for one run. :banghead

So two runners on, no one out, and you have a guy up who has gone 4-12 in the tournament (.333) with 6 RBI. Two of those four hits were a double and the walk-off homer the day before. It's a good idea to bunt in that situation? Really?

Fire Toman. You can recruit all you want, but if you can't manage a game, it's worthless.

The announcers will talk about the 11 LOB. Baseball people will notice the 5 outs given up via bunt with runners on base that reduced the number of at bats with a chance to score those runners. Terrible managing greatly reduced the chance to win the game today. If Toman won't abandon the bunt as an integral part of the offense then this team won't move on beyond its current level.

It's always a bad play there. Increases the chance of scoring 1 run but decreases the chance of scoring multiple runs. Doing that, in the 4th and down by 2, is always the wrong call.

So goes another year- 41 wins... most would be really happy about that and it's nothing to sneer at, but I sure would have loved to get this one. Based on how this team has played through the last half of the season, I thought that the first inning was a good indicator of the outcome.

That was Coastal best game of the tournament - error free and took advantage of every opportunity. Burke and Connolly are virtually unhittable. Coastal led the nation in team ERA, yet we DID NOT take advantage of our opportunities - 10 hits and 4 walks.
