Certainly didn't work for the Patriots.

Luck's biggest strong point is the play action pass to the TE. He's off the charts at that type of play. The Colts got him 2 that are good pass catchers and 1 of them was his college teammate. Throw in ridiculous speed/big play potential from TY Hilton at WR. Bruce Arians runs a running/play action offense, as evidenced by the early years of Big Ben in Pittsburgh, and the picks fit perfectly. Add in the NT for the switch in defensive scheme and that's a really good draft.

You do have to wonder why they would select a 2nd QB after picking Luck...or not.

I'm not criticizing taking two TE per se. Just that they took 2 with faintly high draft choices. There was a lot of O and D line help available in either of those spots and plenty of quality TE they could have picked up later.
Also, I know I'm not an NFL talking head but I always thought Cousins would make a very good NFL QB. But that's just me

New England was clearly more established when they did it, but they took Gronk and Hernandez in the 2nd and 4th rounds.

Luck's mobility and play action ability, along with 2 guys who can give him short passing options over the middle, will take a ton of pressure off the OL. I think you'll be more than happy with Chapman at NT as well. I'm not sure why they didn't go for any OL until the 7th round, but I'd bet they'll use a lot of 2 TE sets to help out with the blocking.

I think the fact that Fleener fell to the Colts in R2 was a big help because he will make Luck's adjustment easier because he will have a teammate that he already has a very strong relationship with with him on the team. Allen gives them another playmaker at the position as well

I'm fine with Fleener, but thought going with Allen in the 3rd was redundant. I wOuld have like to seen Brooks or Martin. Oh well, this is why I'm just a fan!

Watching/hearing the reaction of the TV folks would have been priceless if it had been Martin.

The greatest proof that the Kirk Cousins pick was the right move...Skip Bayless is against it.

EDIT: And now Kornheiser and Wilbon trash the move cementing it as the best pick in the 4th round in the history of the NFL.
