I saw this kid play a bunch of times when he was in high school. He was pretty much unreal. He wants to move closer to home. Let's get this done!
Former Oscar Smith quarterback Phillip Sims plans to leave Alabama and transfer to another school, according to a release from the school Friday.
...
Sims was arguably one of the greatest high school quarterbacks in Virginia High School League history. He threw for 10,725 passing yards and 119 touchdowns, which were tops in VHSL history. He also had 636 completions, which ranked second. He posted a 48-4 record in his four-year career that included a Group AAA Division 6 state title, three Eastern Region titles and four Southeastern District titles.

He was named Parade All-American, All-USA Today, the Gatorade Virginia Player of the Year, Group AAA All-State Player of the Year, the Abe Goldblatt All-Tidewater Player of the Year and the Southeastern District Offensive Player of the Year.

He chose Alabama over more than 30 offers, including Oklahoma, Georgia, Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina, Florida State, Virginia and Virginia Tech.

i dont think we have a chance same with the hoos. They just enrolled a 4 star mid year enrollee along with 2 more years of Rocco and 3 years of david watford plus they have another 3 star coming in the fall. I think he wants to go somewhere that he knows he'll win the job.

And W & M.

Nothing says that we couldn't find ourselves in position to welcome a QB transfer from up the road willing to trade a little orange in on some red!

Go Flames!!!

I'm from the area and I saw this kid play on numerous occasions. I will be surprised if he goes to ODU... he's way above their level. It's a shame he chose Alabama though... he should have stuck with a school closer to home that wasn't in the SEC. That way he could have won the starting position outright instead of having to battle for it.

I know a place where Mike Rocco wouldnt have to worry about job security.

Wondering if Rocco will stay and fight it out or move on to IAA football.

No chance Rocco wins that fight. Sims would start at all but a handfull of schools in the country. He wouldn't have to worry about anything at UVA.

Unless Rocco decides he wants some home cookin'.

He gets that either place and Richmond offers family coaching as well. It would be great to get him in the mix here though.
