to get an at large we need to sweep UNC A and beat Georgia this week, a win at UNC would be huge this far in the season.

I think your right, this is a huge week. I think we have to sweep UNCA regardless of what else happens. Scratch, claw and fight to get a win against georgia or unc.

Well we got the win against UNC. Too bad we couldn't also manage one against Georgia.

This win bumped us up to 55 in the RPI (from 69). Good chance our RPI will drop after this weekend as Asheville is 183 but after that we have some solid RPI teams where if we consistently win the series, we should have a very legitimate shot at the berth:

Coastal - 58
High Point - 109
Radford - 81

Two of the mid week games will not help but the VA Tech game could be a very big one for both RPI and discussion purposes when the committee is sitting around the room:

JMU - 237
NC A&T - 264
Virg Tech - 30

Right now we are 2-1 against teams in the top 50 RPI and 6-4 against the next 50. There will be plenty of opportunities to change that, both for the good and the bad. Getting three this weekend would be big going into the tougher games.

I think we should get a bid, but one never knows how selection committee will be. they will certainly show favoritism toward PAC 10 and Big 10 teams, especially PAC 10.

you do know that the B1G had the same number of teams in the tournament last year as the Big South right? As for the Pac 12, Arizona State and Oregon State have been traditionally good programs so I will give you the fact that they will get a bit more consideration, but they only got 5 teams in as a conference. Youre making it sound like both those conferences took up half the field or something

I know that year in and year out, the BIg 10 gets favoritism form NCAA, and I just assumed they did in baseball also. I do know that PAC 10 gets favoritism at every turn in the road. They had one team one year that got an at large bid with barely a winning record. But regardless, come selection time, our wins over UNC and UVA should carry a lot of weight

How many PAC 10 teams were in the NCAA basketball tournament? BCS games? The NCAA favors the Big 6 Conferences as a whole but there's a reason for that.

It's def. on life support but it's not completely dead, unlikely but not dead. If we were somehow able to win out save 1 game and finish 2nd in the tournament i think we'd still get in. That's assuming winning tom. beating tech, taking 2 out 3 from CCU and sweeping radford and high point haha. Eh, not looking good.
