I always thought Gabe would be better utilized as a WR. He is too good of an athlete to be taken off the field. I wonder if Woodrum or Hudson would transfer? It would be good to keep Woodrum and redshirt him this year so that when Brennan leaves, we have a very competent backup for Berglund.

Woodrum already used a Redshirt I believe.

No. 3 ranked quarterback on the all-state commitment listing … finished his high school career with 6,515 total offensive yards, including 1,212 rushing and 5,303 passing … was responsible for 62 career touchdowns, including 41 passing and 21 rushing …

I looked at the football site and could not find if he was rs'd or not. Do you know where that info is located? And I agree that we need to hang on to him.....

I have to agree about Woodrum. He's the best QB prospect that we've had in a while. Probably could have gone to a few FBS schools but chose us. Although, Brock maybe the better QB, this could potentially impact our recruiting in the Roanoke area. I wouldn't say that we've done our best in that area if Cave Spring or Hidden Valley recruits hear of this, it could have a negative effect. I'm all for bringing in talent but I hope this doesn't hurt our recruiting progress in Roanoke.

This is a true statement. I know of a coach who is a very prolific high school coach in the state of VA (lost only 1 or two regular season games in 7 years and has 2 hs state championships). Anyways, a player of his was recruited by VT to play QB and VT changed their plans for him shortly after signing him. To this day, the coach harbors negative feelings towards VT - and very few of his players have chosen VT since then.

This is a slightly different situation though. In that case a coach basically broke a promise, in our situation a new coach has come in and is trying to bring in a guy he is familiar with. I'm sure there will still be open competition which is all any player can ask for.

From who? Any more details as to why this isn't a lock? I thought he was enrolled already?

Berglund tweeted Thursday night “Playin’ darts in Texas.”
With all due respect to Sly's Lone Star State, Snowflex has got to trump darts.

You can always play/throw darts when ur Snowflexing but you can't always Snowflex while throwing darts!

So far, Berglund has talked to at least one coach from every major conference in the nation. He's set to take an official visit at Mississippi next weekend after already chatting with schools such as UCLA, UNLV, Miami and Utah.

He also made a stop at Liberty University, the only program in the Football Championship Subdivision he's considering. And that was just because of his relationship with Flames coach Turner Gill, who recruited Berglund to Kansas before being fired.

Not so fast, LUconn. We all know that Coach Gill is about relationships. Maybe this will work out for us in the end.
