Since the competition has thrown the towel in, Romney will be nominated as the GOP Candidate for Presidency. The question now, who will he pick for his VP? Here is a list of all the possible candidates I can name off the top of my head. I know that some of these are highly unlikely. Feel free to add to this list and discuss.

Marco Rubio
Donald Trump
Sarah Palin
Rick Santorum
Ron Paul
Bob McDonnell
Eric Cantor
Chris Christie
Mike Huckabee
Kelly Ayotte
Newt Gingrich
Paul Ryan
Bobby Jindal
Susana Martinez
Brian Sandoval
Rob Portman
Adam West

Who would you pick?

Mitch Daniels.

Doesn't really matter since Romney has 0 chance of winning the general election.

Clearly don't understand that rationale - but okay it's your vote. Ultimately, I'd like to see Christie, McDonnell, Rubio, or Ryan on the ticket, or as a part of his administration.

I dont care how you violate the Constitution but if you violate it you should not hold an elected office. Both Obama and Romney fall under that. I wont vote for people who say they support the Constitution but really dont.

I'll add to that.

But which party represents the constitution on the ballot? The constitution party? (yes I know it's called that)

I won't vote for Romney if he picks McDonnell, Newt, Cantor, Santorum or Huckabee. The rest I'll have to look into a little more.

John Kasich and I will vote for Romney to get the clown out of the WH. I will take a governor who knows how to work with a budget vs a senator who has no work experience in his life.

Romney will likely have to pick a conservative from either the midwest or south.

Frankly I hope he doesn't pick one of the more exciting young conservatives like Rubio or Jindal. VP runs whether successful or not have proven to be either minimal bump for politicians or simply an end of the road over the past few decades. Palin road the campaign to popularity but it will be years before she could do anything significant on the national stage based on the public's perceptions of her from 2008.

Sly, with all due respect, the media will slam whoever he picks as an idiot, moron, bozo, racist, sexist, biggeted homophobe. :D

Reasonable people can disagree, but I knew plenty of people who voted for McCain only because he picked Palin. He knew he had to pick a conservative to energize the right.

Which is exactly what I stated above. I just stated that i hoped they didn't waste a potential quality presidential candidate in 2016 on a VP run this year.

We have another sharp young Hispanic conservative running for Senator this year here in Texas. If elected, he'll join Rubio & Ryan as the rising stars of the party.

Martinez doesn't have a ton of charisma but may get the nod because socially conservative Hispanics have the potential to be the swing vote this fall after feeling burned by Obama's promises in the last cycle.

But why do we have to pick a Hispanic? Yes Ted Cruz and Rubio are good, but can't they just be solid conservatives who happen to be Hispanic?

I know I'm majoring in the minors here but if we complain about the Democrats picking by race , we cannot do the same thing.

Dude, the VP selection is always about demographics whether it by geography, ideology, gender or race. To pretend otherwise is silly.

I am not suggesting that the VP nominee has to be a Hispanic. I'm just suggesting that alongside Romney it is something operatives are actively pursuing.

I'll even go a step further and suggest that Rubio's Cuban heritage vs. the Mexican heritage of Martinez might also be a significant factor. The two groups have very different perspectives on social issues and politics. The one that is most politically expedient might be given more attention.

On a side note, I wonder if bozlady or CJ's wife have any connections to Martinez.

I'm not disagreeing Sly that it's taken into consideration. All I'm saying is that it shouldn't be.

Add Nikki Haley to the list. And by Adam West, I think you mean Alan West.

It's funny that the VP pick would prevent Atrain from voting for Romney, especially the milquetoast names he mentioned. I'd like to think there are more important things to consider.

I think Rubio is out and I can't see Christie being a number 2 unless he is allowed responsibilities like Darth Cheney was under W.
I see Ryan, Jindal and Daniels as the leading candidates. However I think a Haley or West will help close any 'enthusiasm gap' Romney has. Especially Haley if the Democrats keep up this 'War on Women' thing. I liked Palin but think Haley could run circles around her or Joe Biden. Having said all that, I'd love for West to get a long look. Of course why wouldn't I, apparently I'm a warmonger after all! :D
