Ryle's Lampman headed to Liberty

Ryle senior Elena Lampman plans to sign a letter of intent to play fast-pitch softball for Liberty University of Virginia next week.
Lampman was the center fielder and leadoff hitter on Ryle's state championship team last spring. She had three hits in the title game and was named to the all-state tournament team.
During the summer, the speedy left-handed hitter played on the Louisville Lady Sluggers club team that finished fifth in a national fast-pitch softball tournament.
Lampman will be joining a Liberty team that was runner-up in the Big South Conference postseason tournament last spring and finished the season with a 41-23 record.
She was also being recruited by Louisville, Morehead State and Campbell University in North Carolina.
Ryle High School has scheduled back-to-back signing ceremonies for two senior athletes on Wednesday, the first day of the NCAA early signing period.
Fast-pitch softball player Elena Lampman will start it off at 1 p.m. when she signs a letter of intent with Liberty University in Virginia.
Lampman was the center fielder and leadoff hitter on Ryle's fast-pitch softball team that won the state tournament last spring. It was the first time a Northern Kentucky team has captured a state title in that sport.
During the summer, Lampman played on the Louisville Lady Sluggers club team that finished fifth in a national fast-pitch softball tournament.
She was recruited by Louisville, Morehead State and Campbell University in North Carolina before she accepted the scholarship offer from Liberty.
Last spring, Liberty was runner-up in the Big South Conference postseason tournament and finished the season with a 41-23 record.
