I'm excited about this year's tourney. I'll be in Lexington tonight and Asheville on Wed and Thursday! I think it could be a wide open tourney with basically everyone playing a neutral court game in the 1st round with the exception of the Asheville game.

Feel free to post your tourney predictions here.

I've got VMI and HPU tonight.

Wednesday:
Coastal
Campbell
UNCA
LU

Thursday:
Coastal
UNCA

Saturday:
UNCA

I really think we can make a run, but that game @ UNCA will be extremely difficult. Maybe Barbour drops 40+ on them and knocks 'em out. But I doubt it.

so we could theoretically be hosting the championship game? Who came up with this format? I don't see any reasoning anywhere.

Look, I'm not crazy, but I do think this team at this time can beat Asheville. I think what I just saw vs Coastal and Campbell was a style and a confidence that just may be the formula to beat Asheville. The type of D we have played is very legit. Don't write these guys off so easy.
Plus there's a part of me that says our second round opponent may be HPU anyway.

Monday, February 27
#10 Radford @ # 7 VMI 7pm VMI...Radford mails it in and looks to next year
#9 Gardner Webb @ #8 High Point 7:30 HPU. Barbour pretty much carries the team on his back to the quarterfinals

Wednesday, February 29 (all games @ UNCA)
#7 VMI vs #2 Coastal 12:00 Coastal...If VMI was the shoot 50 threes a game VMI of the past Id give them a chance....but theyre not so the Chickens move on 75-64
#6 Winthrop vs #3 Campbell 2:00 Winthrop. The Eagles have shown a penchant for making a run this time of year and I think they pull an upset here 54-51
#8 High Point vs #1 UNC-A 6:00 Barbour goes for 40...Dickey goes for 30 but the Bulldogs hold home court 82-79
#5 Liberty vs #4 CSU 8:00 (Liberty Channel) Liberty. The Flames are burning brightest right now and I think they carry the momentum to their first tournament win since 2009 52-48

Thursday, March 1 (both games @ UNCA)
Game 1 - #2 Coastal vs. #6 Winthrop CCU. I think itll be a war but Coastal goes back to the Championship game 61-60
Game 2 - 8pm ESPNU #5 Liberty vs #1 UNC-A UNC-A. Id love to be the koolaid drinking homer here but LU has traditionally had trouble in UNC-A's house and the Bulldogs ride home court to the win 60-51

Saturday, March 3 (at highest remaining seed)
12:00 ESPN2 #2 Coastal Carolina vs. #1 UNC-A These two split their season series (each winning in the other's house). UNC-A has the experience and the home court advantage and will make another trip to the Dance 75-65

Which reminds me, there were a couple of VMI players here for our game Sat night to see David and Jesse off. I know for sure one was Okoye because I saw him after the game.

Classy move by them. Were they in cadet uniform or in their warmups?

If we were playing ANYONE other UNCA @ UNCA, I'd pick us to win. I think we would beat Coastal, Campbell, CSU, WU, VMI, HPU, GW, Radford. UNCA is just a good team and they've proven all season long that they're the best team in the league. If we can somehow get past Thursday, I think we'll win on Saturday.

Having said that, I wouldn't be shocked if we sprung the upset on UNCA or if HPU did.

And as I type all this, I realize I'm overlooking CSU way too much. Let's hope the team doesn't.

Agree, good sportsmanship for Stan and the "others" to travel to Ly'burg for your game. Surprised Duggar gave permission...............(should however been asked to travel in grey blouse, since they weren't officially on some sort of furlough).

UNCA has had the path paved for them before and not been able to close things out on their own home floor (shout out to WEF & the recently silenced Realist).

Getting past Chuck South is going to be a challenge itself. But I agree that anything is possible with this crew.

Play-in:
HPU over GWU (HPU pulls away late)
VMI over RU (romp by at least 20)

Quarters:
CCU over VMI (36 hour turnaround with travel leads to easy Chant win by 15)

CU over WU (Camels break slide, Peele's seat gets red hot, CU by 12)

UNCA over HPU (UNCA soils their drawers, finds golden horseshoe up rectum in time to pull out win by 2)

LU over CSU (Sanders makes CSU guards play like freshmen, Flames win by 6)

Semis:

UNCA over LU (Sanders ends career with triple double, but scare against HPU makes Dickey and Primm go off, and UNCA pulls away for 16 point win)

CU over CCU (Camels getting off slide and more athletic players stop Raffa and leads to 12 point win)

Final:

CU over UNCA (Dickey and Primm show up overconfident, Camels take advantage, Griffin shows up big on national stage, leads to 6 point upset WIN)

I don't think Radford will go down quietly against VMI. At least not the way VMI has been playing lately.

I also think Winthrop is capable of beating Campbell, but their coach is awful and will probably hold them back from winning. But also, the fact that Campbell has flat out stunk in it's past 2 games cannot be ignored.

I went with a gut upset pick. I can't pick UNCA or CCU, the league has been too tight all year. Campbell has a very athletic team, and I think the two losses may have caused them to stew this week. Winthrop is worn out, playing those four seniors all year and not developing any bench has killed them. HPU will go as far as Barbour carries them. If LU were the six and not the five, I would have them in the final more than likely, the Flames are hot.
