Still don't have the intestinal fortitude to call for the firing of the person most responsible for the short comings you see. You never have answered the one question that could clear up the issue, so I'll ask again in hopes, faint as they are with the weak willed, you have an honest answer:
If JB were to be removed would DL be a better coach and LU be a better team?
Or would firing DL make our MBB team better?

if we could attract a better coach, and dale layer cant turn this team around next year... then it might be worthwhile to begin looking elsewhere. unfortunately i don't think our head MBB job is anywhere near as attractive as the Football opening was.

Be glad to state my opinion when season is over on the DL program. JB came in and screwed up a program that was consistently in the top 3 and had arguably the best starting line up returning. Attendance was very good and without all the $$ spend on advertising and promotions. We have taken several steps backwards. JB now hopes that he can use the $$$ from the Chancellor to move the FB forward. Gill is not a sure shot by any means. Once the press conferences are over we then have to compete...no one can match our $$ in the BSC yet the AD can't put programs together to get us a championship/playoff in FB, MBB and Baseball. Keep selling the results as excellence some in circle will believe.

Someone I know went 7-2 in last 9 conference games losing to a Winthrop team, that advanced in NCAA Tournament beating Notre Dame, in last possessions and Coastal on the last possession. Played an NCAA team in Bracketbuster. Had already brought us a BSC Championship and one of the most amazing Championship games ever played in destroying HPU on ESPN in the Vines Center. Yet Mr JB Ego said he could not lead us to the levels the AD envisioned. The AD should retract his chest beating lingo and try humility. FB is going to be interesting to watch. The Chancellor will soon have seen enough.

There is no need to wait for the end of the season to answer my question. You do a good job taking a page from the Obama playbook. He blames GWB for everything under the sun, you do t he same with JB. But other then that you continue to show yourself as nothing more then a bitter coward who lives in the past.

PH-- I been reading your arguments with TorC for a long time... And TorC has good points...

Say what you want but RD was top 4 in league every year except 1 == very good IMO
RD won a BSC title... If DL wins 1 how long would his extension be??
Also when the Doctor died LU got out of debt, Jr turned Online into millions so let's be real here the buildings, facilities, scoreboards, etc ARE NOT coming from AL Williams or some super fundraising AD.

Also LU playing better as of late, and JB and Sommy are still injured,,,, so why couldn't they play that good in Nov, Dec, Jan, Same players????

So it's ok to use "VMI without 2 starters" excuse, but not ok to use "LU without 1 starter and 1 contributor" excuse?

What's the excuse for us beating PC on their senior night after they won 3 impressive games in a row?

And the Burris shot was part good coaching and part good fortune. Layer drew that play up and we executed perfectly.

We're 7-9 in conference with 2 home games left. If that's the worst season we ever see under Layer, I'll be fine with that. Every team has their up and down years.

BSK - if you have been reading my posts you should be able to see what the problem is. For me it has nothing to do with RD or JB. The issue should be what we have on the floor NOW. I agree with you that it is too early to judge DL. Where you and I probably differ is I think, given the injuries etc, he is doing a good job. Sure we 'knew' about the injuries in August but we still couldn't have filled those wholes in the line up any more then VMI could.
ToC on the other hand thinks all of our woe's have to do with the AD. He lives embittered by perceived wrongs of the past. If he isn't happy with the product on the floor then he should blame the person directly responsible for that product, which is the coach, not the AD. The point being that DL is going to be the same coach whether or not JB is the AD. He/She/It can't come to grips with blaming anyone else but the AD for any perceived ill, and probably for rising gas prices!
