Looks like I'm going to have problems replacing inactive owners.

And I don't think keepers are a good idea, since there may be different teams or a different amount of teams.

I think we need to just re-draft.

We need to confirm 10 teams before we add any new ones. Jinxy is first in line to take over a new team, which will likely be Th3rd's. If you want to play and your name is not on this list, you can join, but just know you will only be added if the numbers work out.

Just wrapped up my 15th year in a keeper year. Same 10 guys too... Started online auto draft, then moved to online draft, then live draft. No one had kids or wives in the beginning. Now every labor day weekend we have a draft weekend - go to a Liberty Game, have a cookout, go to church, etc... 90% of the league isn't from here and all drive or fly in. Had over 25 people stay at my house last year. Has turned into an event we all look forward to every year. And Keeper league is cool, because you plan for the future and it's not always about this year if you are bad.

I vote keeper... I picked up last year for that reason. Just have the teams that don't show back up get adopted by someone else. Hold a a predraft drawing for draft order and let them choose from remaining teams.

That will only work if we have 10 teams again this year. If it's any other number, it throws off competitive balance.

And it's tough when you don't have the same people back year after year, puts new people at a huge disadvantage.

It's kind of the problem with keepers who never stay. It's just an unfair advantage for those of us who do. As you all well know how fun it is to play someone who isn't even playing.

If anyone wants to start a new keeper league some place else though, I'll gladly join it.

Also, I just think we need to ditch the keepers. FlameFans is notorious for losing a person or two from each draft, and I don't want a newbie saddled with a team they didn't draft, it's just not fair to them. I've joined keeper leagues to take over someone else's team, and it's just not any fun.

Plus, I would really, really like to get this league up to 12 teams at least, so we have a deeper league and our teams aren't as stacked.

I like the idea of a deeper league, as long as there are 12 teams who will stick with it. I would suggest, if you do 12, or 10 for that matter, split into two divisions (two division winners and next two with best records regardless of division make the playoffs). Or you could do three four-team divisions. Each winner gets in, plus one overall wildcard. Just a thought. It keeps people more interested than being mired in eighth place.
