Just watched the Great Escape. Those tunnels didn't work out too well. Also we have been hit and miss with the tunnels we have now!

My first experience with the whole underground tunnel system was in Rochester, Minnesota. I guess it works, it was just really odd to be in.

But that of course is built for the cold weather. A little rain soaking is nothing compared to -10 degree weather.

or a stern talking to about how dangerous it is and by stern I mean it was very comical at the time. I much more immature postman if you can imagine. Its also more of a sewer and nasty and unsure why we decided it would be so cool

Interesting to see the track being moved. Kind of a bummer that the track offices that were built in the last 18 months will no longer be next to the track. I had a love-hate relationship with the old one.

It will be interesting to see what they do about seating at the new track. We make bank off of the high school invitationals that are held on campus each year. That will be difficult to do if there isn't any seating, or at least a bowl-type setting on one side of the track so people can watch the meet. Maybe they can find a way to shield it from the almost constant wind tunnel-like headwinds that were present at M-H during the spring season. If that's the case, I am going to apply for another year of eligibility!

Very cool picture!
Oh, he most definitely was. Flying ain't like driving in that regard.

By the way, I love this thread.

Thank you for the welcome. I've been following for a couple years now, thought I might contribute. I'll keep the aerial photos coming. Let's just say my "job" gives me ample opportunity to do so. Go Flames!

Didn't know if this deserved a new topic or not, but does anyone know what's going on up at Liberty Ridge? Got the footage back from an aerial video I shot the other evening and noticed this clearing from one of the cameras...

Image

I remember something a few months back about the Liberty Ridge builder cutting corners with drainage ponds or something like that that LU was going to have to remedy now... Is that all that's going on, or are we seeing some more units going in for the first time in years?

Also, looks like the unfinished building that would be on the right has finally been demolished.

PS-- Looks like the pic's getting cut off on here. Here's the URL:

Devin - I live in Liberty Ridge. Here is my understanding (the short version). Liberty owned the land & sold it to a developer. Something went wrong & the project went into bankruptcy. After sitting empty for a number of years, LU bought it back. Since the property has leans against it, LU could not do much with the property until the lean holders were paid back. LU recently sold parcels off (to pay off the liens) and two projects are being done. I don't know how accurate my info is, but I think it may be apartments/townhomes plus an assisted living facility.

We now have the Liberty Journal online with a new reader application. See attached. IPad, IPhone and other apps will be available soon. Plenty of information related to this thread in this issue. Enjoy.

Sounds like a great idea for graduate students who live in the Northeast.
...and a great place to develop a new Christian college.

Rogers, the article in today's paper mentions my line of work, so I find this proposal very interesting--an LU Honors Program in New England.

Liberty University may acquire a satellite campus in the rural town of Northfield, Mass., providing a brick-and-mortar outpost for online students from the Northeast and, possibly, a secluded site for an undergraduate honors program.

Haize, I have it on good authority that Cider was offered a position with WVU to head up their "onners program" and coach
the "quizz bull" team but, fortunately for us, he turned it down. So please be nice to our esteemed colleague.

So when the Apocolypse comes my people will have shelter, power and refreshment. Your people will have a mind full of mush. But that's ok, Zombies need to eat too!
