At 5 AM it had just started and there was nothing anywhere. At 5:45 in the Roanoke valley, the roads are covered and its coming down.

the roads were pretty slick when i was coming in. i had no trouble until i took it out of 4wd to play, but i saw several people sliding on 501. can't believe we still have to work today, i don't trust all the mad lynchburg drivers out there!

I dont understand something, on the radar it looks like Pulaski/Blacksburg is getting hammered right now and the mountains are beating it down and it dissipate by the time it reach's us. However we're expected to get 4-6 yet they are only supposed to get 1-3. I dont get that...

As far as driving into work today. I tried to make the turn, wheels were pointed in the right direction but the car didnt seem to want to go. LOL....it was either keep trying and wind up in a ditch or get back into the other lane and try to get the next one.....I chose the latter.

The administration should be applauded for their early decision last night to delay this morning. That was so much better than waiting until 7:45 & then saying "go back home". I salute you, oh decider of campus operation hours under inclement weather.

Unlike the Lynchburg school system, which I think made their decision to close early this morning, which frustated a lot of parents, according to Facebook.

One of my favorite hobbies besides irritating everybody on ff.com, is being a weather nerd. Just wanted to give a heads up, the 1-3 inches being talked about for Sunday could wind up being around 6-10 based on all the weather computer models. Just wanted to give a heads up to you all in Lynchburg, there's a storm a comin'.

It's possible with the sun angle and warm temps. But wow the cold air seems like it will move in just in time for snow in a line from Roanoke to Richmond.

I knew I moved to the beach for a reason, a little chilly Sunday night and thru the day on Monday, but back in the 50's by Tuesday :D

you should be good spangler.

I'll post model maps of snowfall when they come out, to show what they're saying. For those in the burg, go ahead and get your milk and bread now before the news changes their forecasts tonight.

You guys enjoy your snowfall. Meanwhile, down here in South Florida on Sunday morning I will be running a half marathon where the weather at the gun (6:00am) is going to be a cool crisp 71 degrees.
