Our buddy realist on Liberty, realignment and the Big South:

Liberty has a pretty terrible reputation, as in, no one takes them seriously as a school. Just saying that it will alleviate the conversation when someone asks what conference you are in, and asks about schools----usually the one people kind of look at you funny is when you mention Liberty. To me, it adds credibility to the conference to get rid of them if possible.

I just read what Realist wrote in the post above and it made me smile. Listening to Kevin Keys just now talk about all the improvements to an already incredible campus it makes me realize that this school has a lot of big things ahead, far bigger than the Big South in my opinion. When that conference jump does happen it is going to make those comments seem really silly.

There aren't many Winthrop fans..there were a lot of Gregg Marshall fans, but they all started to bail in 2007...sad but true.
