LSU got out played and maybe out coached. Jordan Jefferies look AWFUL would have liked to see them make a QB switch. Bama was all over the option.

Good for them! I was rooting for LSU because I like Les Miles but Bama got out played in every category except their D. That is until it just ran out of gas.

i'll be honest, before this game, i was very ready to say that if bama won, i would assume it was a tri-champion with lsu/bama/okstate but thats when i thought it was going to be another single digit slugfest. but bama dominated this game to the extent where i feel the first game could of totally gone either way and this one was all bama the entire game.

lsu had a tougher schedule but i have no problem saying bama is clear #1. lsu #2 okst #3.

what was more interesting was hearing all my friends last week "WHERES THE DEFENSE THERES NO DEFENSE NO DEFENSE" then i'm like yesterday, i'm watching the game tonight are you guys? "NO WAY NOT ANOTHER 6-9 GAME THATS GAY"

*sigh*

Looking forward to the day when LU stresses defense like Saban does. I don't expect us to be as dominant as UA has been the past 4 years on that side of the ball but just in terms of execution, knowing your assignment, wrapping up, tackling in space...the mental stuff. I love how Saban stresses the little things. Love watching athletes at any level execute to their ability. The rest takes care of itself. Roll Tide.

Apparently Les Miles said in the post-game presser that the team took off from practice for 3 straight weeks at one point. Les Miles is an idiot.

I LOVED watching the Alabama defense. They're so fundamentally sound, you just don't see that anymore. They are actually taught how to tackle! I felt the same about LSU also, but just not at the same level as Alabama. If the Redskins don't draft someone from that game last night (particularly from Alabama), I'll be massively dissappointed.

On another note, Mathieu may be LSU's big playmaker, but Claiborne is a better player.

Saban said the same exact thing... Not so much of an idiot... Just depends on who wins - the loser is the idiot.

What game / season were you watching? :football

The only thing LSU was "dominant" in was their kicking game, but in the end, that didn't even matter. FWIW - BAMA had better stats for the 1st game too. LSU had the advantage in running & FG made (which, in the end, is all that counts). During the first game, BAMA moved the ball better & got into scoring position. They just didn't execute when it counted. They made up for it last night. :clapping

Defense wins championships. Five field goals & a TD don't hurt either. RTR and GO FLAMES (I am pretty excited for next season!).

I think he was referring tot he fact that special teams was sloppy for the Tide and the offense struggled as well. If LSU's offense had any abaility to do anything against the Bama defense then the Tide could have lost. But obviously Less and the offense had nothing.

Congrats to Bama. Okie State would have my vote for #1. This BCS business gets worse every year.

You and four other people; only difference is they actually have a vote in the final poll.

I can't believe LSU got a first place vote in the final standings. I understand the people who cry foul on the BCS but come on... after that undressing by Alabama, how could anybody place them above the Tide or OK State for that matter?

Protest votes. The whole thing is a sham. So now we have come to the point where the SEC schools don't even have to prove themselves beyond their own league. Yeah, Bama & LSU are essentially Co-SEC champions. But there can be no true national champion with this current mess.

Well, LSU did beat bama on the road, and this past game was technically a neutral site. So if you consider them even, since they split the season, I could easily see someone voting for either LSU or OKST. I honestly don't see the difference between the BCS and the old system. In the end they're both based on polls and people's opinions who we deem worthy for some reason.

Sly - You've been watching too much Dora the Explorer. Bama's special teams were not sloppy. They were pretty good. The offense didn't struggle... They kicked LSU's you-know-what. BAMA's defense stifled LSU for 8 quarters... and yes, LSU deserves to be #2. What they accomplished during the regular season was amazing.

What I think is hilarious is all of the ADD fans who expect 50 point shootouts. That's not good football... that's bad defense. If BAMA or LSU had been playing OKST, the score would have been different. BAMA's 5 FG's would have been 5 TD's. OKST may have had 2 or 3.

How is NOLA a "neutral site" for the Tigers? No one thought that going into the game.

But no one will know this until we stop having the bias towards the SEC in the BCS

Bama's punt & kick returns generated basically nothing while their coverage got the job done. The FG unit provided the only drama in a yawnfest with even the ones that made it through the uprights an adventure ... oh yeah, 2 missed FGs & 1 missed PAT.

The offense did all right between the 20s but stalled out in the red zone. The only kicking by Bama came from on 4th downs.

This whole scenario proves what a fiasco the current setup is and what a genius Roy Kramer was in created a system where an SEC is essentially assured of a title.

The good news is that this joke of a national championship game has provided more ammunition for dumping the BCS system. Last night was clear evidence that we'll never know who the real champion is.

All that said, I am enjoying giving my LSU friends a hard time. But I keep my mouth shut around my boss.

Many years ago the SEC's Slive proposed a "plus 1." It was the AD's & Commissioners of all the other conferences (that the SEC routinely kicks tail) that put on the kibosh. The bias of the SEC is well deserved. Until someone can knock the SEC off, put up or shut up.

That's the point no one even got the chance to. That's why we need the playoff so the teams prove it on the field. It very well could have ended up being Bama-LSU in the title game but at least it would've been earned.

Actually ACC commish Swofford supported Slive on that matter. The other 4 were against it. The SEC is the best football conference, without question. The B1G and Pac-12 seem to be content with that as long as they preserve their precious Rose Bowl for themselves.
