We really need to start recruiting better in the DC metro area...WCAC is loaded..One of the toughest HS conferences in the nations with Good Counsel and Dematha nationally ranked...it also include such schools such as St John, Archbishop Carroll etc.... I saw Carroll a few times this year and these kids are fast, tough and physical.... Lot these kids go to WVU, JMU, ODU, UCONN, Vtech etc.... If we could get couple of these kids a year it would go a long way.

By retaining Skaleski and bringing in Gill, I think there is a chance we could end up with a better recruiting class than we would have had if Rocco had stayed. Gill and any assistants he brings with him have not been sitting on their hands for the past year. There are kids they have been recruiting who may like the idea of coming to play for a coach they like and getting to play a bigger role here than the would have at Kansas, with facilities that are comparable and arguably a more enthusiastic fan base.

+1 .... I think we also have the most notable FCS coach in the state now.

With the press conference done and the prospect of FBS move in the near future it is time to see what kind of recruiting Coach can get done. This spring's class with give us a first glimpse of what he might get done here. Start hitting the phones Coach!

We already were working kids to come to LU and those names are still available to new staff. And Coach Gill and his KU staff were working other kids primarily in Central portion of country and especially in Texas. I would expect some of those kids to be in the mix as well.

I'm loving the philosophy change from regional to national that Coach Gill referenced in the newser.

Well from a national recognition standpoint I think only Beamer would be above Coach Gill in this region of the country. That has to be good.

As LF10's last few posts have indicated, we are losing a few guys, but that had to be expected with the timing of the coaching change. Itll be interesting to see what kind of names show up once the dead period wraps up.

I know we need to be getting some of these guys but it just shows how far our program has come with some of the schools we are competing with.

A very true statement.

Though I'm not going to lie, I'd really like to personally see Dallas Griffiths & Sean Culkin in Flames uniforms and colors among this 2012 recruiting class. Crybaby

Yeah this will probably be an odd year where we don't know half the kids that end up signing with us until signing day.
