I mean, it is Texas.

Was Coach Gill on the Husker staff for that unbelievable day in St. Louis when Coach Rocco won that ring? 4th & inches call was a stroke of brilliance by Mackovic.

That play may have been one of the most enjoyable sports moments of my life. I was anchoring that day in Austin and there were nearly riots in the streets. And here it is for old times sake ...

The sheer look of terror on the faces of the Huskers as James rolled left is priceless. Priest Holmes sealed the deal moments later.

and me...

although to be fair it was kind of a big deal for Texas to beat Nebraska in '96. I believe it would have been '93 the last time Nebraska and Gill had lost to anyone. The one slip up cost Nebraska a chance at a fourpeat National Championship. Nebraska recovered ok from the game winning the NC again in '97 (IDK anyone named Michigan) So while Gill was collecting NC rings in the 90's kudos to Rocco for getting a Big12 one :P

3 National Championships (currect coach) > Big12 Championship (old coach)

So, anybody remember that 1995 Sugar Bowl?

Virginia Tech beat Texas 28-10 and Bevo defecated on the rug at the Superdome.

Great day.

I'm thinking that it would have been easy to spot ANYONE at that game

Wasn't that the same 96 Husker team with Michael Booker had the pick six and tommy frazier had the incredible TD run to win the Fiesta Bowl against the ole ball coach and florida and National Championship? That Game is what got me hooked on College football. I was a baseball guy up until that day.

Your thinking of the '95 team but the Fiesta Bowl would have been played in '96.

Tommie Frazier was a man-child.
