I'm not going to lie, I was pretty skeptical about this hire. However, after listening to the press conference, I feel like we just hired Herb Brooks, Denzel Washington, John Wooden and Bear Bryant in one. I can't wait for next fall.

Good presser...seemed very honest. If he was going to stand up there and give promises with no substance he would have done it with the question about faith. I have a feeling he'll practice what he preach's...the haters are starting to creep into my mind though...it did come across as a little McKay'ish. Then again I believe McKay truly believed every word he said at the time he said it...but that's another conversation.

3 Assessments for the presser

number a. Why hasn't anyone mentioned how much Gill seems like Denzel Washington? I felt like i was watching one the speeches in remember the titians...

Letter 2. TOTALLY feels Mckayish... but different. I think he'll give us everything for at least two years, but this guy seems to just be looking to get back to a major BCS college... So when he leaves, no one should be surprised. I don't think he's going to feed us a load of bull like Mckay did and then peace out on us half way through the season, mentally.

5. i'm glad he's here. but i'm totally looking past him. I think he's going to take us to the next level, but i think the further discussion on top of this should be who takes over when he leaves and continues the momentum that he's going to help bring...

I think it's a given any coach will leave almost any program these days for a "better" place. If LU gets 4-5 good years out of him that's a plus. I just hope he can usher us into the FBS.
