I think Coach Gill is a great fit. Great guy, and was able to build a winner out of Buffalo

1 winning season in 4. Had a winning record in year 3 only. Hopefully he's the right choice as a coach and not just as a person.

Hope Gill delivers. But not a proven winner on the sidelines to level we aspire. So if we say it is a risk with a 20-30 and 5-19 record we are sourpusses. Struggled to even compete at KU. Turner will have his opportunity and a program that has the most resources in the conference. Hope he becomes legendary.

I don't know a dang thing about the highschool coaches down here so I can't even comment on them really. I think if whoever the highschool guy is has coached in college before I would be ok with it, but if he is a hs lifer...ehhhh.

This couldnt have come at a worse time. I think I've been pretty outspoken and saying that I love the hire and I'm very excited for our football program. The only downside I see here is if Gill performs the way we all think and expect he will then he'll likely be gone in 2 to 3 years getting a shot elsewhere again.

Since this board is magic. I will ask that someone advise Gill not to make promises of "I love Liberty, this is where God wants me for the rest of my career" stuff like that.

Disagree. I think the expectations are pretty high for the 5 year plan. If he performs the way we hope he does that would mean we're starting to create some noise (even if just a little) at the national level...if he takes us there, do you not believe we'd invest in him even more? That's just good business.

I don't think it matters if we invest in him more. The "announcement" could slightly change things but not too much in my opinion. I've seen this story more, he did well at Buffalo, they invested more in him and he bolted. If he does well here for 2 or 3 years then I think the a school from the ACC, Big East, etc. will come knocking again and he'll be gone. No matter how much we invest in him we won't be able to match a BCS job.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Kansas talk, it was a terrible situation where he was basically set up to fail. I do think you are about to see the best recruits in the school's history come thru in the next couple of years.
