My favorite tweet from a player so far:

Grant Jones - Turner Gill was my second choice out of highschool. Now I get to play for my favorite coach at my favorite University. #Blessed

Find a good S&C coach. The staff he hired at KU was extremely lazy, and had no accountability. This trickled down to the players and that attitude became widespread.

Once again Haize you are the one not reading. Medic, how did you miss this one?

The return of Morgan Hout?,
Remember the OTHER stop of Falwell 1

There was some truth to your statement lol...not in the capacity you're speaking of though

See I would say since we already have a good one and there has been no indication that he is leaving would have made the guys comment from another time zone moot.

I think Coach Gill is a great fit. Great guy, and was able to build a winner out of Buffalo, a program that is in a similar situation as us (in terms of level of competition). The debacle at Kansas is nothing more than that, a debacle. As a major "Let's fire Rocco" proponent, the debate always was "Who out there is better?"

Well, we've got one that could be much better. Turner has coaching potential. He showed at Buffalo what he's capable of. Put him in the BSC, or whatever conference we wind up in, and not in the bottom of the Big 12, and see what happens.

Maybe we'll be joining his former team in the MAC? That'd be pretty awesome.

There is an extra 250k for beating schools with a chicken as their mascot :D
Does he have to give $ back when we beat you guys? :P

yes. esp if you do it with a high school coach.

As an aside: I'm amazed your AD is actually considering that

Alright, since we got a new coach, I thought it would be appropriate to say that I believe that the flames that shoot out when we score a touchdown should be 8x bigger and spit out our logo. I also believe that we should have fire jugglers go out in the middle of the field every touchdown. This would create a better atmosphere and put a new meaning to our nickname.

In other news, the Wake Forest game can't come soon enough. So much waiting....

I'm taking a wait and see approach. HMO knows I've followed Liberty football since Morgan Hout, city stadium and Villanova days. I suffered through 1-10 Ken Karcher when he was hired as the "next big thing." If TG can back up the hype with W's, I'll be convinced. One thing's for certain - he won't have any excuses to fall back on.

My guess as to the "special announcement", Phase 2 begins.

Being on the staff for the 94 & 95 Nebraska team is impressive. A lot of people consider that 95' team to be one the best college teams ever. I believe it was the 94 season, that Tommie Frazier had the blood clot halfway through, and Brooks Berringer stepped in and the team didn't skip a beat to the title. That says something about the QB coach. I don't acknowledge the 97 half championship being a bitter Michigan fan. I'm pumped up though. Great hire for LU!

Yeah, I wasn't sure what we were going with. I can change it if FlameFans decides it The Gill City. The more we throw it out there now the more it'll stick.

Gill coached Eric Crouch, one of the best QB's in my lifetime at the college level.

I remember Crouch well. Loved him as a player. If he can bring in and coach an Eric Crouch at Liberty, he's worth whatever we pay him.
