Your million dollar bets are hyperbole though. I have no doubt he was serious.

I liked Herman. I don't like any of these guys left.

Watching Newt debate Obama would be pretty entertaining though.

So you read Romneys mind now? Hmm interesting

I do agree I'd love to see Newt run circles around Obama. However, I can't see the Obama team agreeing to very many debates let alone a format that favors Newt

I don't have to read his mind, it's my opinion and was fairly obvious in the context. If $10k is his "I'll bet you a million dollars" than he's a weirdo anyway. Who talks like that?

Lots of people. How many 'celebrity bets' have you heard of? They are fairly common. Plus, if he was serious why is he not pushing it? 10k to the Wounded Warriors Foundation if you win. This is such a no big deal

lol. man you really like this idiot. he looked pretty serious to everyone else.

1. when someone says "wanna bet a million dollars?" jokingly they don't follow it up with "well do you?" causing an odd silence that last for a few moments.
2. his saying "wanna bet 10k" is pretty specific. not conducive to hyperbole. nevermind that 10k is like saying "i'll bet you a buck" to 2 rich guys.

its not that big of a deal, just another sign this dope is out of touch.

Agree it was more just showing how out of touch he was. He just went ahead and confirmed every Republican stereotype in the book with that comment. The Republicans are really just a bunch of rich white guys.

Ron Paul is really making a run it seems. I don't know how I feel about that, but it makes sense. I don't think anybody likes what's on the table, and he's really the only different thing there.

The best thing for The Mormon would be if The Crazy Uncle beats the Philanderer in Iowa. :D

Ironically enough, in my opinion, Paul has the same problem that Romney does, though Paul more so. He seems stuck around 15-20%, and can't seem to move lower or higher. Romney is liked by the establishment, and pretty much nobody else.

You can guarantee that Paul will finish 2nd in Iowa. His supporters are much more passionate about him than other candidates fan bases are.

At this point, I see Newt winning Iowa because of his support for ethanol subsidies. However I still think this is a very open race.

Paul finished 10% (5'th place) in Iowa in 08. Polls this time have him around 20%.

The Ron Paul supporters will love this...

And good for him. Hopefully this a trend. Although keep in mind Public Policy Polling is a Democrat polling company.

Yeah, especially since Bachmann and Santorum, you know, hate gays and Muslims so much.

Yeah he's wrong on Bachmann, that's for sure. Santorum just makes it too easy to pick on. That's honestly his problem.

I should call this post, "How to Start a Firestorm"...

But seriously -- how funny / sad is it that Ron Paul may WIN the Iowa Caucus -- and the story out of it will be "Romney Edges Gingrich for Second"???

I'm about to jump on the Paul bandwagon just because...

You read that somewhere, probably the same place I read it.

And I really doubt that Paul will win Iowa. I think we heard all this same stuff four years ago. Although, I do have the worst memory in the world, so I might be wrong about that. Media sensationalism and polling up the wazoo, don't trust either.

I am pretty sure Ron Paul was not in the lead in Iowa in 2008 at any point.

But, the real test is Florida, South Carolina and New Hampshire.....so, as much as I want Dr. Paul to win, it could be just one victory. Research Pat Buchanan winning NH back in 1996, the media and the Republican establishment shut him down....However, now that the internet is not censored the way television is, that should help him.

I imagine a very very ugly fight if Paul wins Iowa. Gingrich will only try to attack Paul after Iowa. Take it to the bank

Agree with you jmdickens. Newt is losing his flavor of the week status.
