I hope we get Turner Gill. He took a Buffalo team that hadn't won more than 2 games a year in probably a decade to the conference championship and he did it the right way. Sometimes people on here are just plain crazy. We get an opportunity at a great coach and great Christian man to lead our program and now people don't like him. We could resurrect Tom Landry and people would ask if he still can coach and if we would want a 4-3 defense or if he is actually "morally qualified" to coach at Liberty. I will check with my sources on the Kentucky trip, I'm sure its not just a lay over.

Seriously Elizabethtown, KY?
Follow it and see where it goes from there. I'm thinking it probably has something to do with Louisville. Or it could just be a random stop unrelated and then right back to Lynchburg.
Probably a good BBQ joint. If you're going to speculate it has something to do with Louisville, then you might as well speculate it has something to do with Western Kentucky

What town is Western Kentucky in and how far is it from Elizabethtown?

I think there's another college in Bowling Green too. hmmmmm

But seriously Bowling Green has an airport. Why drive an hour? Maybe they're trying to throw us off. Because a surprise is of the utmost importance.

I doubt it has anything to do with Western Kentucky then. I could see them going to see someone at Louisville and there being no way for them to fly in to the airport at Louisville and instead had to go to Elizabethtown. I'm sure they could have made room at Bowling Green if they were going to Western KY.

Sometimes people simply live 30 minutes from their employer... so the distance could put them between two airports... if you're interviewing for a new job that you may not take, meeting in a less visible town is probably preferable. That would put WKU and Louisville in range.

If you're referring to Bowling Green University then that's in Ohio.

Guys, I drive this stretch of interstate about once a year. This doesn't have anything to do with WKU. They could fly into Bowling Green directly or even Nashville. If you live on the south side of Louisville, Elizabethtown might be the closest airport. It certainly would easier to get in and out quickly than Louisville.

I'll be honest and admit that information flow has been shutdown since yesterday morning. But all indications are that several interviews are planned and the goal is to hopefully have it narrowed down and an offer delivered before the week ends. That may not happen depending on how the process works. But it certainly allows for plenty of speculation.

Sly and others, I posted a list of a few qualified coaches at UofL for our job in this thread, any names stand out that could fit at LU?

So a lot of stuff happened Monday: road trip to Richmond in the morning, full workday in the afternoon, hobby engagement in the evening, cooked dinner, took out the trash, fed the dogs....but not sure much happened on the football front besides a clandestine Falwell 1 flight. What up SLY?!

I can see Morgan making a non football related return. We have done that before?

Or

By the way, the UL defensive coordinator's name jumped off the page for me. Vance Bedford was an awesome collegiate cornerback for the Longhorns His name gets mentioned as a possibility every time there is a defensive opening in Austin. I know nothing about his religious beliefs, but he certainly is able to preach ...

no one asked but I'm starting to agree with whomever posted that we should probably stick to an "ACC type"

all things being equal (coaching acumen), that would give us a bigger splash around here. Even as a new FBS program we need to be strong in the region

Sly, Bedford was the one name that jumped out to me also. But he may be holding out for bigger and better things. Who knows...

Maybe he's going to check out Louisville's new basketball arena and their scoreboard.
It is the fifth largest college basketball arena in the nation and includes an integrated scoring and video display system, which includes large LED video displays within the seating bowl, professional grade LCD screens and a powerful control system, all provided by Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota.
