I am ready Gill. I said I wanted a husker from jump street. I was a little off with Ron Brown but we're on track with Gill. As for his experience, I think he just needs the right situation. Buffalo and KU were hard going, with issues and not a good place to work from. We have a good team, coming off a good season, with good facilities a growing program. He played and coached under Osborne the 5th most winning coach in NCAA D-1A History, I don't think that should be underestimated.
As for recruiting, region doesn't matter were going national, I think Gill will see that. He will bring his name. And hopefully the rumor is correct that we are keeping Skalaski and we are golden.

It's funny, people knock his MAC championship when the coach he beat is now coaching at Michigan.

It's also funny that his signature win is beating Ball St. and Danny Rocco's signature win is beating Ball St.

So if we hire him as our coach, would that mean we turn RoccoTown into "GillVille?

(hating on Ball State jc?)

I would love to bring this guy to the mountain. I really want a coach who is vocal about his faith and stands for the university's values. This guy could be a great football coach, who not only leads his team to victory on the field, but off the field as well.

Appears the integrity portion of the job requirement is there, but wow his Kansas teams were bad over the past two years. Not only record, but statistically they were awful. I have no idea whether he was at fault but it is interesting that when you go on some of the Kansas blogs the fans were almost unanimous in their desire to get rid of him and complained about the lack of discipline on the team (on field).

In saying that would prefer him over the other two candidates mentioned assuming he convinces Barber that he has a passion and blueprint for the challenge.

Just leave out the "New" and call it "Gill City"................ Rhymes with one of the established and commonly used monikers for Lynchburg.

There are a lot of negative articles due to how bad this past season as Kansas was but here's a nice quote

http://kansascity.sbnation.com/kansas-j ... eally-good
"Turner Gill is a really good man, he’s a smart man, he’s a really good football coach or he couldn’t have won at Buffalo. He’s a guy that everybody in the country was talking about as being a great young coach, and I know absolutely, two years isn’t long enough to get a program turned around," Brown told Ubben. "I am a Turner Gill fan. I hate to see this happen to him and that staff. They had some really good coaches on that staff and I hope he can find a new place quickly, because he’s a guy that college football needs."
The Big 12 coaches seemed to be pretty disappointed with his firing. Hopefully it's not because they thought of him as an automatic W on the schedule.

From the Kansas Fan:
Well, they think the Earth was literally created in one week.....they probably think a football team doesn't take much longer.

PS. They really seem to hate him.
Interesting. He can't win anything? They seem to forget what he did at Buffalo. I'm not saying this guy has the best resume in the world, but I think what he did at Buffalo is more prevalent for us than what he did/ couldn’t do at Kansas.
