Just imagine if his dad went along with him to talk to the blue chip athletes (and their dads).

I'd imagine we'll have to offer him a pretty hefty contract. Does anyone have an idea around what we'd be willing to pay? I think we were paying Rocco somewhere around 3 or 400,000, but I think Bowden will want more than that.

I don't know what we'd be willing to pay, but he wouldn't take less than a million a year I'd imagine. Personally, I think that he'd be worth every penny. If we really want to make a splash and have a strong HC while trying to move to FBS, Bowden is the guy to do it.

Hey, hey hey there young man!

One of those articles mentioned that Clemson is still paying him. So... Not as much as we would have had to?

It depends what the language of his Clemson contract. If there is no sliding scale or nullification, we could get him 'cheap' especially since he said he was more interested in taking care of his assistants.

He'll coach until he's in his 80's - it's in the genes.

We're just getting ourselves excited only to be disappointed when we don't recognise the name of the guy who does get hired

Sadly, this is the gospel. Hope whoever we get knows how to run a program and not set us back a few years

just to keep this thread up to date, the quote in Lang's article that's posted in the other thread

http://www2.newsadvance.com/sports/2011 ... r-1541564/
On Twitter, Tallahassee Democrat sports editor Ira Schoffel noted that he had asked Bobby Bowden about his son Tommy during a recent interview. Schoffel posted: "I also asked Bowden about son Tommy since his name still seems to get linked to jobs, but he doesn't think Tommy wants back in coaching."
sounds like a no-go

That was my sentiment on the other thread. If Bobby says he doesnt want back into coaching (and he would probably know better than anyone), then chances are he isnt going back into coaching, no matter who comes calling whether its LU, CCU or any other U in between.
