No one is messing with Romney at all. My guess is that they will leave him alone until he becomes the nominee and then they will fire everything they've got at him.

The old saying goes something like this, leave the laws to the police, and leave the sins to the priest? Of course, I do not believe in the roles of human priests, but you get the point, for most it would be the pastor. It is not the role of the church to impose their morality on others. It is our job, however, to give every man an answer for our beliefs in God, as the Bible states, even though I know I probably slightly modified that verse.

I don't usually like the NIV, but I think it goes with what our role should be. 1 Peter 3:15: But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Well, you saw it with the whole Mormon thing. It was an issue 4 years ago when he was battling McCain. Now, it's not an issue. But when it's brought up (by a Baptist preacher, not the media), who was attacked? Not Romney, but the preacher, and then Baptists. I guess that preacher used one of the media's deadliest bullets too early, so they had to reign that back in.

Seriously, though, Romney has been incredibly quiet in the media. He doesn't give interviews like he did 4 years ago, and nobody is going after him, except for Rick Perry (who's WAAYYY too obvious about it).

Part of it too is that Romney did run 4 years ago, and only Ron Paul has that same experience in the field. Also, 4 years ago Romney WAS considered a more conservative option then McCain and Rudy. His faith was usually mentioned as a POSITIVE thing. Newt is definitely peaking at the right time, maybe he WAS right back in June when a lot of his staffers quit!

Actually, Romney was getting a lot of heat for his Mormonism, until he gave that great speech (I think it was in Dallas, maybe?) that dealt a big blow to the issue.

The media will attack Romney for being a mormon once the nomination is wrapped up, if he wins. CBS and the New York Times already let that cat out of the bag by accident a few months ago.

That would be a great tag team match. Newt/Morris V Mitt/Rove

Great Article by Lu Professor, Dr. Stuart Schwartz on NEWT

http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/11/ ... _newt.html
He is a more facile and intelligent, an older and whiter and chunkier version of Barack Obama, whose single defining trait is overweening narcissism. And just as Barack begins each day with an admiring look in the mirror, Gingrich is second to none in his appreciation of the glory that is Newt.
No wonder Mat Staver likes Newt so much.... :D

I love Christmas lights. They remind me of the people who voted for Obama:

They all hang together; half of the bastards don't work, and the ones that do are not that bright.

Borrowed.

Yeah people are jumping on candidates way too early.

Trump was going to save the universe. I was mocked on here for saying Trump wouldn't run, and he's clearly not a conservative. How did that turn out?

Then it was Perry, but then for some reason being a good debater is more important than being a president.

Then it was Cain, because, if we nominate a black guy we can't be called racists!

And then it was Newt, because he's a good debater, he says the right things, never mind how he lied to us 17 years ago.

People seriously need to hold their fire and wait. Keep learning more about the candidates. I honestly feel we have the best candidate we've ever had.

Rick Santorum earned my respect during the last debate. I am not sure of his credentials or his position on things that were not discussed Saturday Night, but I will definately be taking a look.

Just remember!
On the other hand: Newt, as flawed as he is, is preferable to Barack Obama or any other candidate offered by the Democrat Party. Yes, Newt is Washington and power lunches and lobbying money and taxpayer dollars, a talking-not-doing denizen of a class that considers talking to be doing. And he is deeply flawed. But -- aren't we all? So, when all is said and done, he is sorta, kinda conservative. And that, in the age of Obama, is a blessing...and, perhaps, a new beginning.
I still haven't decided .......... Study

I don't think I could vote for Newt with the clear conscious. I voted for McCain simply because I didn't want Obama in power. I don't think I am going to base my next vote on simply not wanting Obama in power.

That's exactly it. And Obama is an extremely vulnerable incumbent.

Primaries are upon us. There actually isn't much time. The choice will probably be locked in sooner than later.

This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't pick a candidate until the date your primary is held.

This from the guy who set up the flamefans straw poll. You're just trying to mess with us right?

That's not bad advice, but my point is that time is quickly coming to a close. The field will narrow very soon. Choices will be limited.

How stupid is Romney? I have no doubt that he thinks $10k is chump change. He couldn't have made himself look any more like some elitist rich guy looking down at everyone else if he changed his last name to Duke and was betting $1 on nature vs nurture.
