Again - not sure what they are fighting about... I know what Anti-trust is and they will not get any judge to rule in their favor. It's just an empty attempt to force the NBA's hand. The whole thing is a joke... Again - these guys are basketball players!! You know who they should sue? The lawyers advising them to file lawsuits so they can get paid from these multimillionaires. Oh, and how did they get all that money to pay that lawyer - oh yeah, the NBA.

An agreement has been made to end the lockout. Assumming the players and owners ratify the agreement (a foregone conclusion at this point), there will be a 66-game season starting with a triple-header on Christmas day!

As I suspected would happen, the threat of lawsuits (and especially the threat of treble damages if the owners were to lose) clearly convinced the owners to get their act together and actually negotiate for once.

• The players' lawsuit was impactful. Say what you want about the players' chances of winning an antitrust suit, but the threat of a prolonged court battle -- and potentially $6 billion in damages -- clearly affected the way the league negotiated. Stern's long threatened "reset offer" (which would have given the players 47 percent of the BRI and included a hard cap) never crossed the table. Instead, the two sides resumed bargaining even after the union elected to dissolve and locked down the principle components of a deal that will salvage the season.

So happy about this...its too bad it had to happen this way but I am pretty excited about Christmas basketball

is it bad that i was rooting against them resolving this so hockey could get more exposure? i care nothing for the nba and am a little sad they didnt lose their whole season like the nhl did. oh well. back to espn pretending hockey doesnt exist again. not that it made much difference aside from leading off sports center with sidny crosby's 4- point night return to action. oh well. good for the nba i guess.
