I know Formula One doesn't get a lot of attention from you guys in NASCAR country. But I have to admit that I have been rather jazzed about the F-1 speedway under construction in Austin to bring the series back to the U.S. after the Indy debacles a few years back. It looks like just a year out from the first scheduled race that there is a hiccup ...

Organizers of Circuit of The Americas, a Formula One race track being developed in southeast Austin, are suspending further construction of the $300 million facility due to a dispute over racing contracts, officials said Tuesday.

A contract between Circuit of the Americas and Formula One to hold races at the facility for a 10-year period beginning in November 2012 has not been delivered to Circuit officials, organizers said in a news release, noting that a previously agreed-upon timetable had not been met.
