That program has a bunch of LU connections. Which reminds me, where is Stephon Leary these days? Scar?

Steph is coaching HS in Houston I believe. He was at a D II in Laredo Texas, Texas A&M International, most recently as the head coach but that position is now filled by another former LU staffer Shane Rinner. Shane was an assistant at Biola and Alaska Anchorage. He played HS ball for RD. Rinner was on staff at LU as a grad assistant when I was on staff back in the day. Former LU guard Brian Weakley is also down there in Laredo TX.

Steph tried his luck as a sports agent for a while but ended up getting back into coaching.

I'll have to look him up.

And I had no idea that we had such a strong connection to Texas A&M-International. Be sure to let them all know to keep their heads down in Laredo. The danger is real.

I had never heard of Palm Beach Atlantic until I moved to Boston, so many from our church go there

My uncle used to head the art department there. Suffice it to say that I would be very cautious sending Christian kids to the school these days. Theologically they have shifted considerably in recent years away from their Baptist heritage & financial support.

We took our daughter for a tour of the campus. The tour was led by a female student in short-shorts. You should have seen all us parents in the group look at each other after the tour guide made each of these statements:
Your freshman year, you can't have boys in your room, but beginning your sophomore year, it's no problem. They just leave their driver's license at the front security desk while they're in your room and pick it up on their way out.
You can't drink alcohol or be drunk on campus, so when you go out, just make sure you don't have more than a couple beers.
This is where we have chapel -- two each week, one contemporary and one traditional. But it's optional.
Not kidding. So glad she chose Liberty!

BUMP

Carter was seen attending LU's baseball game on Saturday. Anyone know if he is now living locally or just in for a visit? Carter looks like he is still in playing shape, and a good friend said Carter still have one year of eligibility remaining, and he's still 6'10"... Play Basketball

Carter may not have played 4 years, but he would not have D1 eligibility remaining due to the 5 year window.
