Did anyone see the picture of Sean at Iowa State?!?!?

There was a nice attractive girl that said "We want you Sean!" It had his picture on it and everything. Why couldnt someone do this at LU?!? We have some pretty girls here!!!

Agree we need to get the students involved more in the recruiting experience. Everyone likes to feel important even if it's just fans yelling your name and to come to LU it would make a recruit feel important. It's pretty standard at major BCS schools.

We've been approached in the past but there is a certain level of control that would have to be relinquished in exchange for a few pennies in return that we don't feel comfortable accepting.

I have witnessed a few of the more harolded recruits on their official visists on game day. They are seated by themselves to watch the game. I thought it was pretty lame myself.

Sean is generating all kinds of buzz down in Florida right now from the Gators & Noles circles but still no offer yet from either of them for Rivals' #20 TE in Nation. Here's a quick pic from Friday night's game:

Okay, help me out here: has Sean Culkin had the most productive season of any tight end in Tampa Bay history? The Indian Rocks Christian senior has 45 catches for 867 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has caught a touchdown pass in every game this season, and has caught two in seven of the nine IRC has played. Yep, that's right: Culkin still has one more game to play. Tight ends get just a smidgen more respect and notice than offensive guards, so I confess to not recalling a finer statistical season by a tight end.

Sean Culkin recently visited Iowa State and he talks about that trip, who he'll visit next, who could be close to offering him, when he'd like to commit, and more here.

"My visit to Iowa State was great. I love the coaching staff and really believe in Coach Rhoads. Being my first official, I really had no expectations going into the trip, but when I got there it was unreal and they really took care of me and my dad. The trip really helped me with the recruiting process and I really like them as a potential college," said Sean Culkin.
Other than Iowa State, Furman, FIU, Liberty, Samford, UCF, and Western Michigan have offered the 6-foot-5, 215 pound tight end out of Largo (FL) Indian Rock Springs. He has also been offered as a grey-shirt from South Florida.

He feels some other schools could offer him down the road if things shake out in his favor.

"Some schools I talk to weekly are Georgia, Wisconsin, Florida, and Maryland. Those four could offer any day. Some are number situations and there waiting on other positions of need. Stanford, North Carolina State, and Cincinnati have contacted my coach recently also."

The Badgers are one school that has really been showing Culkin a lot of attention and the sure-handed tight end plans to pay them a visit soon.

"The next official I plan to take is to Wisconsin," he said. "Coach Rudolph told me last week either the Penn State game the November 26 or their football banquet will be when they get me in for a visit. Since the Penn State game is so close to Thanksgiving I think it will be the banquet weekend. We will most likely set the trip up sometime this week."

For now, Culkin has no leader, but he knows what he is looking for in a school.

"I'm looking for a great football program, a good staff, nice facilities, and players that want to win their conference every year. I'd also like to play in a great location, and in an atmosphere where the people really love their football team. I hope to make my decision at the end of December but it could happen before or after."
at least he didn't mention FBS :|

Gainesville (FL) Sun wrote:The only recruit who was scheduled to make a decision soon was Buford, Ga., tight end Kurt Freitag. The three-star was originally going to commit in October, then pushed it back to this month and now says he will announce his college choice on Dec. 9 at the Georgia state title game (assuming his high school team makes it there). He officially visited UF for the Alabama game and there was some chatter that he would pick the Gators along with Kent Taylor, the nation’s No. 1 tight end. That didn’t happen, and with Taylor now committed to Florida, it looks like Freitag will go with the Crimson Tide. But this could pave the way for Sean Culkin (Indian Rocks Christian School, Largo, Fla) to join the 2012 class. Culkin doesn’t have a UF offer, but he continues to speak with tight end coach Derek Lewis and would commit on the spot if one came along.

Mizzou has apparently entered the picture and he's taking an official visit there this coming week.

Missouri's tight end recruiting hit a lull for the 2012 class, but now the Tigers appear to have identified their new top target: Largo (FL) tight end Sean Culkin.

Offers keep stacking up for Culkin. Just added Missouri and KANSAS to the list. Hopefully he still gives us a shot. Seems very unlikely now. I am sure it helps that Coach Skalaski is staying.... you never know!!!! :football :football :football

The more visits places like Columbia & Lawrence instead of SEC campuses, the better is for us. Hopefully he's not enamored with the idea of playing for Coach Weiss after his brief foray in Gainesville.

Sean committed to Missouri today. Came down to MIZZOU, Liberty, Kansas. He loved his visit to Missouri and loves the oppurtunity to play in the SEC every year. I think it's great we remained in the hunt all along.
