Flames Fans,
Liberty Flames Athletics challenges you to break out your best Chili Recipe for the Tailgate Cook-Off this Saturday at the football game vs. Presbyterian College. The winner will receive two Liberty Bookstore suite passes for the November 5th football game against VMI and dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Details on Rules and Registration are listed below. Registration
• Each team will need to pre-register and check in on the day of competition.
• Participants will have to register by emailing Rachael at rmbranscome@liberty.edu including the following information by Friday the 28th:
o Contact Name
o Contact Phone Number for Game Day
o Name of chili / Team Name
• Registration check in will begin at 9:00 AM at the front entrance of book store parking lot (tailgate Lot)
Rules
• Each team will be allocated one tailgate space upon check in at the registration table Saturday.
• Teams are responsible for supplying all ingredients, and cooking devices. Chili teams are responsible for their own equipment, supplies and decorations.
• There are no restrictions on ingredients for your chili. Use of meats, beans, pasta, spices, and all other ingredients are up to the discretion of the cook teams.
Judging
Judges will include Jerry Edwards, Vince Redd, and Julie Rocco!
• Judging will begin at 12:00 PM
• Scoring will be rated 1-5 (5 being the highest) for each category with a maximum of 20 possible points
• Categories include
a. Flavor
b. Appearance
c. Overall chili
d. Overall Tailgating experience
The winner will receive two Liberty Bookstore suite passes for the November 5th football game against VMI and dinner at Texas Roadhouse. The winner will be announced during the Football Game.
