Flames Fans,

Liberty Flames Athletics challenges you to break out your best Chili Recipe for the Tailgate Cook-Off this Saturday at the football game vs. Presbyterian College. The winner will receive two Liberty Bookstore suite passes for the November 5th football game against VMI and dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Details on Rules and Registration are listed below. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to claim the title!

Chili Cook-Off
Liberty Flames vs. Presbyterian College
October 29th, 2011

Registration
• Each team will need to pre-register and check in on the day of competition.
• Participants will have to register by emailing Rachael at rmbranscome@liberty.edu including the following information by Friday the 28th:
o Contact Name
o Contact Phone Number for Game Day
o Name of chili / Team Name
• Registration check in will begin at 9:00 AM at the front entrance of book store parking lot (tailgate Lot)
Rules
• Each team will be allocated one tailgate space upon check in at the registration table Saturday.
• Teams are responsible for supplying all ingredients, and cooking devices. Chili teams are responsible for their own equipment, supplies and decorations.
• There are no restrictions on ingredients for your chili. Use of meats, beans, pasta, spices, and all other ingredients are up to the discretion of the cook teams.
Judging
Judges will include Jerry Edwards, Vince Redd, and Julie Rocco!
• Judging will begin at 12:00 PM
• Scoring will be rated 1-5 (5 being the highest) for each category with a maximum of 20 possible points
• Categories include
a. Flavor
b. Appearance
c. Overall chili
d. Overall Tailgating experience
The winner will receive two Liberty Bookstore suite passes for the November 5th football game against VMI and dinner at Texas Roadhouse. The winner will be announced during the Football Game.

IM just glad it's not a Brunswick Stew cook off ..... Every Church, 4H Club, Little League, etc around the North Carolina Piedmont cooks up gallons of that awful stuff in October and forces it on you. I grew up on the Outer Banks and never heard of the stuff until I moved here .

At my church I think good food was prohibited then... lol.

Btw, my fellow baptists, if you know an Aunt Nancy who always has to make pea soup or pea salad, please tell her to stop. Nobody wants to eat that disgustingness. We just eat so you won't feel bad.

How about dressing up for Halloween even if it is two days before the 31st? One game a few years ago fell on Halloween and the kids went nuts - it was really neat to see them dressed up in all kinds of costumes. Looks like they were having a lot of fun too.

I heard something on the radio about there being a costume contest at the game. I think they are giving away a prize to someone each quarter and a grand prize. Can't remember what it was. Think I heard it on WLNI's morning line.

Then I DEFINITELY feel sorry for you. The real reason that so many Baptist preachers are fat is that there are too many good cooks in the WMU, and if the preacher doesn't sample some of EVERYTHING that's brought to the church supper, feelings get hurt.

I only pastored in West Virginia for about nine months, but I gained a BUNCH of weight in that short time. Some sweet old ladies who could REALLY cook in that church ....
