Lang's breaking news: Presby dismisses their Defensive Coordinator this week.
Presbyterian dismisses defensive coordinator before facing Flames
By: Chris Lang
Published: October 26, 2011
Presbyterian College coach Harold Nichols dismissed his defensive coordinator on Tuesday, five days before the Blue Hose travel to Lynchburg to face the 23rd-ranked Flames.

Nichols said that Tom Evangelista, who was in his third year in the role on the Blue Hose staff, had been dealing with family problems, and he made it sound like Evangelista’s departure was a mutual decision between the two sides. But an official university release noted that Evangelista was dismissed from his post.

"It was just a situation where coach Evangelista was having a lot of family issues that he had to take care of, and it was taking away from him being with us," Nichols said on Tuesday’s Big South coaches teleconference. "Our prayers and thoughts go out to him as he goes through this difficult time. It’s been very difficult for both him and us. But we’ve had to move forward and go in a different direction."

Nichols said the entire defensive staff will absorb Evangelista’s duties.

OK, I'm bored with the next three weeks of Flames football (Presby, VMI & bye week). While there are no plans to pull the redshirt from either Henderson or Woodrum,

What would it take for this to happen (how many available QB's, which game)?
Which player would get the call?

That would require both Mike Brown and Brian Hudson to be injured so severely that neither can play...or Mike being injured severely and Brian Hudson stinking up the place uberstyle...and Tyler not being available (Im sure theyd only put him in in a dire emergency before taking the redshirt off Woodrum or Henderson)

Let's hope it never gets to that point, but I've got to think we'd go to a wildcat style offense using BJ Hayes at QB before we'd burn one of their 'shirts this late in the year.

Jon can better go into detail but "Kelsey GOSS" was one of the greatest pranks in the brief history of the LUnatics...sadly the fellow who was the recipient of that prank was later killed in an accident

I had no idea that he was killed in an accident :( I do remember the prank well, I was just thinking about it the other day. Those were the days with the LUnatics.

ESPN3 on x box 360 is the best - you have all the controls FF RW pause etc and you can toggle from game to game and get scores - of course only during timeouts while LU is playing...
Go Flames!

Thank ESPN3 for that replay option too... got busy at work but came back and saw the whole thing.

I was reminded how much I take it for granted when ready Presby's board and seeing their excitement @ being on MASN v. us.
The replay option is pretty awesome. I would have seen about half as many of the games if I had to watch them live (my wife isn't perfect so she doesn't let me watch 30 hours of football every weekend  ). Seriously though, I think I'm super thankful for whoever at LU is responsible for getting these games on ESPN3.

Does anyone know if ESPN3 pays LU for the FSN feed or is it something that Liberty is doing to grow the national audience or maybe a little of both?

You'd never know it by how it's looking outside this morning, but it's supposed to be sunny and 43 degrees this afternoon in Lynchburg: ZERO chance of rain. Perfect football weather!
