Personally I am cheering for Sam to win out and snag one of those top four seeds and somehow have Liberty's 1st Round winner headed to Huntsville. Hey, if I'm going to project I might as well make it self-serving.

Yeah attendance for the first round playoff games are always very low. And the odds of us getting ODU at home are even lower. They will put in a large bid to host. Norfolk St is looking like a large possibility. I would do :cartwheels for that pairing

Yeah, as things stand now Norfolk State makes the most sense. It would make an appealing matchup.

Frankly, I think we can draw a decent crowd for that first playoff game in school history. NSU is close enough for them to bring some folks and with a Saturday game, it is within driving distance of a good chunk of our students & alumni.

Of course the excitement would have to be there based on us closing out business the next few weeks.

Wow, November 26th ..... most students out of town  I guess we would be lucky to have 15,000? I remember a lot of empty seats last year for the SB show down ..... that hurts :|

I'll tell you what, APP State would fill some seats at their place with or without the students being in town ..... The challenge is on :!: ..... if we play in this game everyone needs to bring "at least" one extra person to the game. Get those seats filled up!

If we make the show then you better believe they are gonna try to push for as many students as can to come back for an historic game like that. I may be back in town early myself (depending on the playoff schedule for Gretna)

Actually App hasn't drawn well for their opening playoff games the past few years. It is tough to draw for a game that isn't even officially scheduled until six days before it is played during a holiday break.

I know there is absolutely no way it happens, but one way to get fannies in the seats for a first round game is to have ODU as the opponent. It would be their first playoff game as well, and the fans around here are pretty crazy about the Monarchs.

Also, I would be able to catch a ride with my choice of 10 or so different mini-vans heading west on 460.

Play-offs will come down to the last game... I wouldn't look at play-offs until we beat Stoney Brook.
They are looking pretty good.

Don't care who we're playing the first round, students should be back.....but they probably won't be. I just hope Liberty draws someone within 5-7 hours for the second round.

Stop by the Carol's table for turkey legs, ribs, and pulled pork sandwiches.

Not the best in any catagory but a much better deal than the regular concession stands.

+1

For some reason the game this week worries me a little .... I see it as a potential trap game. This will be Presbyterians bowl game. If we show up our size should over power them .... but we have to show up.

I would agree with you TH...if this was a road game. Youre gonna have another huge crowd, and at this point the only teams that have figured out how to counter the crowd (especially from the student side) are JMU and Lafayette. For the first time in some time, I think we have a team that is taking every opponent seriously and its especially showed in the scores the last few weeks. I think I was more concerned with the CSU game because the game was so close there last time and we were coming off such a huge and dominating win against Coastal. When I saw us dominate there, I felt better about our chances this week and next week vs. VMI.

Our first playoff game has already been scheduled. It's November 19 @ Stony Brook.

Agreed, RVAparks. But you could also say that the next three games are all playoff games.

Its a table set up from Carol's restaurant that Rusty Goodwin runs on gamedays.
