pretty sure Rocco just gave Mills an earful. I imagine it was something along the lines of " Last year, you called a TO. We threw for a TD. This year, we didn't. Don't do it again"

Defense with a couple TDs to really put this one out of reach in the first half...Aldreakis is showing his form from 09 again as well

I think a lot of that was us taking the foot off the gas after Fogg's TD.

Look I'll criticize where necessary but you do know that we were up 38-0 at one point right? The offense did not do well, I'll agree to that, but the defense (for the most part) carried the day today. Two pick 6's on the day, 4 INTs overall. James deserves a good bit of credit for how he played today as well on Summers. He may be playing on Sunday next year. We need to enjoy this one on the ride home tonight and then get ready to pound the Blue Hose at home next Saturday

The good news is that we won't even have to play defense for the next 2 weeks. Well okay, we could afford to play below average.

We were playing CSU BJ...yes our defense played decent so please don't take this the wrong way, but our defense still needs to improve a lot if we plan on making and noise come playoff time

Also Mike Brown is really struggling with his accuracy throwing the ball to the point its starting to concern me....

With all of that said the team is improving and thats good to see. Its also good to see the team beat a team soundly that we should be soundly

To follow upon MikeBrown from the game post.
He is a running back playing quarterback. Ideally you would like to havaa multiple threat QB be a QB playing RB

Or maybe a receiver playing QB?

Well, LU got the expected "W"........I had to look 4 or 5 times at the box score, mainly the total yardage figure. I thought your defense would hold Chuck to under 250 yards (hell, VMI held them to 280), although I understand the defensive schemes called the final 25 minutes, just get it over with and get out of town. 3 non-offensive TD's is scary.

VMI played well today..........for 27 minutes, then the same ole same ole.

yeah MB before he got hurt really missed some wide open passes today. Not sure what injuries have to do with it but I hope it turns out okay.

Hudson... I know it's 2nd team but he wasn't too impressive either.

Scott Hyland celebrates following his 22-yard interception return for a touchdown against Charleston Southern on Saturday afternoon.

Liberty took advantage of Charleston Southern's inability to score early, jumping out to a 31-point first-half lead en route to a 38-16 Big South victory, Saturday afternoon, inside CSU Stadium.

With the victory, the Flames move to 5-3 on the season, following their fourth-straight win. Liberty also improves to 3-0 in Big South play, becoming the first team in conference history to win its first three league games in five consecutive seasons.

Why would we play anything but prevent cover 2 the whole second half? We're up a ton. They're terrible. Why run the more complex schemes and give teams even more to look at us on film? You can't judge our defense by the second half of the game any of the last three weeks. Look at what they did in the first half of the last three games when they were actually trying.

What Jon said.

Seriously, don't read into anything that happened once it was 38-0. LU checked out mentally. It happens. Especially when you're up 21-0; 42-0; 38-0 in consecutive weeks. The game never got close. The third-string quarterback was running the offense. The focus was there when it needed to be.

Day-to-day ... he should be fine for the PC game. No sense in chancing it in the second half, especially after Fogg's return.

I think sigmon should be in strong consideration for defensive player of the week, wether it be for freshman of the week or for the actual big south defensive player of the week, pretty solid statistics............." Sigmon had his first double-digit career tackling game for Liberty, as the redshirt freshman finished the game with 11 stops (five solo, six assisted). He also added three tackles for a loss, including a five-yard sack, to go along with a quarterback hurry."

Got to see the first 3 quarters on ESPN3 replay. Skipped the 4th as it was over by then. Actually it was over 19 seconds into the 3rd.

good to see AA rolling, and my man Pat Kelly. His momma has gotta be happy tonite. Since he got robbed at Lehigh that kid has really lit it up.

#10 is really starting to concern me. Though Summers doesnt seem to wanna fight for the ball- you can straight up blame at least MOST of the INC on MB, incl that "shouldabeen" pick in the 1st. Nothing on target, most behind #1, and usually telegraphing them.

A couple mid-game to Garner (and at least 1 to Allen) were 5 feet behind the reciever, esp on crossing routes.

JUST
NOT
GOOD.

hope the kid finds his mojo before Stony Brook.

PS: Nick Sigmon is my man-crush of the week. I know SMOOTHIE is keeping track.

Stop with this foolishness!

We are deep at CB, yes, but Fogg is every bit as good as Walt Aikens. Plus you really need 4 CBs. We have Aikens, Fogg, Lee and Kenny Scott, and Lee will be gone after this year. Fogg needs to stay right where he is. And I love the kid. One of my favorite players. Also, we have talent on offense. Greg Pratt and Chase Barnett will step up just fine behind Hayes.

Hudson just saw his most meaningful snaps in a Liberty uni. He will be 4th on the depth chart next year, at best. Brennan, Gabe, and Woodrum. I've said it before, Gabe and Woodrum is the battle to watch. Both were HIGHLY recruited. Hudson and the offense looked terrible in the 2nd half.

I swear there's no way they got 3300 there. It had to be more like 2000. Somebody's from CSU is fudging the numbers.

We have Ayers too who is better than Kenny Scott in my opinion.

Woodrum should have played yesterday. He also should have been the one to throw that final pass against JMU. The kid is good enough to be playing for an FBS program. He's got a canon, and a really tight spiral. I'm not sure what else you want from a quarterback.
