Observe. This is like being turned down by a girl over and over again, but going around school saying you would never go out with her. She's gross. Nice try WVU fan.
Except you haven't gone to many WVU games and talked with the fans? For one thing, the ACC took away the great rivalry against VT. Second, we whip Maryland every year. There's no reason for caring about the ACC other than the fact they have a bunch of lousy teams that we constantly beat (minus the fact they are all snobbish little brats).

I had another good argument, but the ACC stole that as well. :D

Anyways, back to 2012 schedule discussion :D
I've been to a couple of WVU games, including the Liberty game. WVU fans have a well earned reputation regionally as being the college equivalent of Philly sports fans. That's not a compliment. When you make the UMD fanbase seem civilized, you've got a lot of work to do.

We should definitely do this. The exposure a team gets from playing VT is unlike any non-sec team.

Wow .... I don't know? Wake will be peaking next season and VT is usually top 10. You could be looking at the two top teams in the ACC next year. That's a hand full?

We're not playing Tech next year.

The big opponent we don't know yet is FCS.

That leaves :
APP state

To all of us without the inside scoop, we have solved the riddle.

Its not that cut and dry (even if you are trying to be funny) There are still teams out there that havent announced their 2012 schedules (that are not App State)

NotAJerry, I know about WVU fans, trust me. My family has season tickets, and I did go to the liberty game as well, and sat in my red away from the liberty section.

Really its all about knowing where you're going. But this isn't a fan thread so I'll leave it at that.

And yes, my guess would be its an FCS, and App. St. was the first team that came to my mind.

O I'm sure there are tons but he said "team", which implies there is one reasonable alternative.

Delaware? Maine? Ga Southern? ODU?

I just hope we let Norfolk States band perform at halftime. Would be worth the price of admission right there!

I'm thinking if it's not App State, it's not in the SoCon. Banking on a historical powerhouse program like UNI. They do have an opening.

FWIW, PC plays Vandy, CCU plays Toledo, CSU is at Illinois and Stony Brook plays Army next season. Not sure of the FBS opponent for G-W yet, but that apparently is the only game not finalized as of yet.

I would take a road game against a quality FCS team over a home D-2 snoozer any day of the week.

I remember Delaware St. visiting in the early 90s and their band getting to perform. It went so well that the LU band complained in the campus paper and tried to make the argument that you couldn't compare the quality of the two bands because they play a different style.

BuryYourDuke wrote:Best way to compare it is a great rock band playing 3 chords but working the crowd. People love it. It's a different kind of talent than the symphony. Hard to argue the technical excellence of the symphony, but it takes a more educated and refined listener to appreciate it. Marching bands don't play in front of music critics, they play in front of football fans, so the rock band three chord concept plays well.
AC/DC as compared toPhantom of the Opera? 8)
